We will start with the good. Embarkation went smoothly, although it was obvious hundreds of people had arrived before the 1:00 time the company said to come. The interior of the ship is very tasteful, not the Carnival gaudy of the past. The food in the dining room was mostly good, albeit better on the Lido deck at the buffet. The hamburgers buy the pool were excellent!! Key West was a very interesting port, as was Nassau. Freeport was a complete waste of a stop. The Conch Train in Key West was worthwhile-very informative. The cabins were well insulated against sound.

The bad--had sanitizers were placed a the serving lines, where most people did not use them. much better to have been located at the entrances to the eating area. We saw several instances where an officer would call on his radio for someone to pick up a small piece of trash instead of the officer picking it up himself. Pretty poor example of leadership.

The ugly--Food service trays from room service were left in the hallways for hours, even though room stewards were up and down the hallways. There was clearly a lack of pride in the ship-which is such a shame considering the amount of money spent on the renovations. the carpets were filthy in several areas, with no efforts made to clean them even on port days. The repainting had obviously been done without primer, as numerous areas were already rusting. Our porthole was rusted and moldy, with water leaking onto the ledge beneath the window and dripping on the floor. We hardly ever saw the room steward, and there was certainly no effort made to learn our names. This is far different that what we have seen on Royal Caribbean ships. While the evening show were well theamed, the intensity of the music made the shows unbearable. The base was so loud it beat against your chest, and we were in the back of the theater. the singers were very talented, but the show quality was minimized by the screaming to be heard above the music. This was also the case for the Rock and Roll Time Machine presentations, while their music was good and they had very talented musicians and singers, it was ruined by the singers having to scream to get above the volume of the music. In the main dining area, we watched as one waiter broker a container of milk and watched it run down the cabinet and onto the floor. it was a full 15 minutes before anyone bothered to clean it up, meanwhile the other waiters are wading through the spilled milk and tacking it on the carpet.
