Embarkation ,as usual for Royal C.(this was our 6th cruise ) without any holdups.Cabin was (ocean view deck3 front of ship portside) excellent -as was our staterooom attendant -however on first and next three nights we were woken by banging and crashing at 5am.it appears we were next to a service stairway -and they sluice the decks at that time.We expressed our concerns to customer services who did their best to quieten the noise the next night --but no better -so we were given an upgrade to balcony .Top marks to the staff who helped us with this and even moved our clothes and luggage for us .

Windjammers food ,again as usual ,good ,but the my time dining experience was superb- we asked for a table for 2 by the balcony -and got it each night without having to remind the very amiable reservation staff. The food itself was worthy of a 5 star restaurant ---14 nights of different menus all imaginatively prepared and served by excellent waiting staff.

Now the downsides !!Why oh why are we subjected to awful music played over the big poolside screens all day long ,when quite plainly the clientele on board was not of an age to appreciate it? Then try to sit and have a quiet drink in one of the bars and being continually hassled to buy another .So very bad in Pyramid lounge that even though my husband had quite obviously a full glass he was asked if he wanted another! We did not go back !
