Carnival Breeze Cruise Review by parenthomes
- Sail Date: July 2012
- Destination: Eastern Mediterranean
Cases=dont expect these until up to around 9pm at night=we got ours about 5.45 just in time before we rushed for our dinner so bring spare clothes if you arrive midday like us. Apparently this is not the service you get on other liners
Dinning rooms blush=over the top waiters who want tips! Only ate 2 times here as they did not leave u alone.
Theatre=broke all holiday
Gratuities-please cancel and pay your own-they try to make you feel guilty but they were work out around £60 per day. Some staff only get 75 dollars per month as carnival expects them to make wages from tips!
Cruisers=they packed in record 4600 guests but only had around 1600 sunbeds so even though up 6.30am could not get bed for 4, with 2 smallchildren this is a headache. Alot guests fighting over beds so new rule brought in if left longer than 40 mins your stuff gets removed! At the end of the day Carnival should provide enough beds and not expect you to lay on towels as some guests did.
Rooms-staff fab and very friendly, they got our biggest tip! Rooms smaller than there other ships they pack u in here-noisy in morning with inconsiderate banging from the patio doors and front doors of adjoining rooms.
Bar staff at main pool bars=not very friendly on lido but friendly staff who come to you
Frog Pub=good friendly service, excellent live music
POOLS- STANDING ROOM ONLY! THese ARE VERY SMALL -AQUA PARK EXCELLENT
Italian and Steak excellent ate here twice great service and food
Indian curry area fab plenty queues here though
Market Place=closed half down when peak times did not make sense just created more queues?
John the cruise director=annoying making announcements every day which was all about you spending more money!
Ports of call=loved loved croatia, good in naples, Monaco, veniece too crowded 6 cruise liners in that day expect queues. Arrival at ports times never as they stated so set your clocks for an hour earlier at 6am or youll miss the arrival
Tours-at 100 dollars per person make your own way to Pompei like us-90 euros in taxi who waited 2 hours for us saved 300 dollars! Same in croatia 15
euros in old town to beach then 50 euros for tour including journey home. Rome more difficult but you can get train.
Exiting boat-PLEASE BEAWARE THIS STARTS FROM 5.30AM IN THE MORNING IF CARNIVAL OR YOUR TRAVEL AGENT HAVE NOT INFORMED YOU-OUR FLIGHT WAS 11.30PM BUT THEY STILL HAD US DOWN TO EXIT AT AROUND 6AM! AFTER SPEAKING TO MANY ENGLISH ON BOARD THIS IS NOT NORMALLY THE TYPE SERVICE YOU EXPECT FROM LUXURY LINER AND MANY SAID THEY WOULD NOT BOOK AGAIN
Nationalties-certain people dont expect to queue! Very loud and arrogant
Children=alot of teenagers on here if you expecting more relaxing space
Overall a good holiday from the trips we took ourselves and the sights and memories, however this is not what we expected a luxury cruise liner to be like. Yes its new has fab facilities but they pack you in like sardines here, everyone we spoke to said book p and o and go from southampton.
