Good Old Boat

Review for Adventure of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

User Avatar

The Adventure of the Seas is not the Hilton of the Seas. It is more the Best Western of the Seas. While, the ship is older, it is in decent shape. The rooms are spacey and the crew is wonderful. The entertainment is not the best and the on deck pools are rather small. The Promenade is nice but has more jewelry, purse stores, and cologne stores than actual stores you need on a ship. The food is ok, ...

Going cheap on cleaning rooms wasn't a good call

I understand that RC was trying to cut costs by only having rooms attended to once a day, but on a 5 day cruise, we had our room cleaned 1 time, no towel animals, and we left the magnet on the door every time we left the room. That's bad service. Also, to get pool towels delivered you can scan in and request them. I did that - they never came. The bartenders were awesome, the food was okay, but ...

Standards Have Slipped

This is my 7th cruise on Carnival. All of them from Galveston as we live just north of Houston. I actually think this is my last Carnival Cruise. I've followed the Video Bloggers and I'm up to date on the price increases and service decreases but unless you have been cruising before I don't think you will notice it but for someone who has been on 15 different cruises II noticed it right away. ...

Great Ship, Great Itinerary

Review for Radiance of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

The Good: Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful ship and this was the Captain’s second sailing on this ship. He was very visible and friendly. All of the crew members were happy to see us and very professional. The food was good in the MDR and Windjammer. The shows were wonderful, including The Piano Man, City of Dreams, Tango and a tribute to Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons. Some of the ...

Worst Cruise I've Experienced

Review for Allure of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

Our first sign that something was amiss was before we even arrived. As we were driving up to the boat, we saw a rusty, grimey mess near the upper portions of the back of the ship. Admittedly, this is on the uppermost floors nearer the smoke stacks, but this was bad even for that location and everyone remarked on it. The security line was lengthy, but tolerable. As soon as we walked on the ...

A different look

This review starts at the port. RCCL has a new terminal that is beautiful but has to be run by blind people. It apparently opened in November and it was the worst experience we have ever witnessed in a port. There apparently is no communication between security, the private parking vendors, and RCCL. I found the disorganization to be rampant. We pulled in to be dropped off and were told to go to ...

Wasn’t what we expected

Review for Allure of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

Let’s start with the room. The bed sheets were untidy and had hairs attached to the sheets, the phone was dirty, the key fob didn’t work, so we were locked out of the room. The second day, the hinges fell off the door, and they had to move us. They cancelled our costa Maya destination we paid for and made it a boat day, which was boring, so we slept the entire day, and only woke for lunch and ...

Horrible food!

This was a family trip and we had multiple rooms. Our bathroom smelled like sewage the entire trip! Our sons toilet wouldn’t even flush for an entire day. The food was incredibly bad, both in the dining room and the buffet. We ended up paying extra for dinner because the food was so bad. No flavor, served luke warm and no one seemed to care. The wait staff just wanted to push you to purchase more ...

Relatively new to cruising, having only cruised to Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico, in the past. My wife told me that this 8-day cruise was the best vacation we have ever had. Why? We chose to make this Carnival cruise a means to find enjoyment in being together, taking advantage of the ports and what the ship offered. Choosing to go the value way, allowing for more cruises, we opted for an inside ...

Disappointed with the Dream

Review for Carnival Dream to Caribbean - Eastern

Cruise was for our anniversary. Lido deck is too crowed with deck chairs in front and sides of pool, which means when music is on you can’t get up and dance. The lido seems a little closed off, usually you can see the hot tubs and kids pool fun area above. During the movie nights, we had drunks screaming with bartenders egging on their rudeness. People had to tell the drunks to shut up, you know ...
