Good cruise overall, but with a few complaints

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Odyssey of the Seas

My experience on Odyssey was generally positive, with a few hiccups. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: -The ship is beautiful, easily navigable, and well-equipped -The staff were all exceptionally friendly -My stateroom was spotlessly clean and had plenty of storage -Onboard activities were fun and diverse, but you need to book ahead of time! -The destinations on this ...

This was our first cruise so expectations were high. First and foremost all crew members were welcoming, kind, professional and very helpful. The stateroom had a veranda which was perfect, however, the bathroom shower curtain had some mold on it and should have been replaced. Housekeeping cleaned the room two times daily and did a good job. The Lido deck was crowded and often times it was a ...

I am currently on the Jewel of the Seas on the TA cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton. We flew to Miami on the 4th April with American Airlines. This was the first time flying with them and I was very impressed with the whole experience. There was more leg room than with other airlines we had used in the past and the boarding process was much more organised. The airline crew were very ...

Great ship but lots needed add-ons got expensive

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Ascent

The Ascent is a very nice ship. Very modern, comfortable and didn't feel all that crowded except at the pool during days at sea and Ocean View Cafe during breakfast & lunch. We stayed in a Infinite Balcony cabin on deck 8 which allowed for more interior space than a typical balcony room but still allowed the balcony experience. I was skeptical of this concept but I really enjoyed it and would ...

All great but entertainment a little lacking.

We love this class of ship. So many great venues. We’ve sailed on Ovation before and were really excited as Odyssey is even larger and has a couple additional places to dine or drink. We are a bit disappointed in the overall lack of appealing entertainment with some terrific venues being underutilized. Two70 sits eerily quiet during the day on sea days whereas Ovation had some live music. The ...

Good cruise with just a couple of exceptions

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Enchanted Princess

The ship is beautiful and very clean. The staff is very friendly and they all do a great job. The food in the buffet was just OK and the biggest concern was there was very little change on the buffet during our 10 day cruise. The same selections every day got boring quickly. However the food in the Main Dining Room was amazing. It was very flavorful and out wait staff was fantastic. It was ...

Older Ship, but Princess has their act together!

We chose this cruise based on a great casino offer. We had sailed on her in 2008 and 2009 when she was fresh and nearly new. Today the ship is in fairly decent shape. Worn areas show in the elevators, and some of the common areas. The crew in general were outstanding! Nice positive vibe from the people who make this party barge go! Princess really had their act together on embarkation, ...

The Celebrity Ascent: A Ship of Contrasts

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Ascent

The Celebrity Ascent is a stunning ship with beautiful design in most areas. It has a modern, upscale feel that's truly enjoyable. However, there were a few shortcomings that surprised us, especially considering this is a new Celebrity ship. One frustration was the theater. We waited in line for a show in the top section of the Club, only to discover it had limited visibility. The layout seems ...

Cost cutting throughout, below RC Standards

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Odyssey of the Seas

Despite prices rising the last few years across all of RC’s ships, the cost cutting continues. Once a day stateroom service is a joke. RC should be embarrassed by this. When I was at guest services for a different matter, they grasped at straws to come up with explanations, or as I called them, excuses, as to why this was the case. My favourite was, “well all inclusive resorts only offer once a ...
