First off, Cape Liberty.
I only choose Cape Liberty because I live in NY, therefore I don't have to fly. However, on this day (July 5th) only 20% of Cape Liberty's bagging staff was there, causing a 2 hour delay in our departure from Bayonne. It was really no big deal, as we got to our first port of call on time (Bermuda), so clearly the baggage staff that was there worked really hard.

The Good:
Emabarkation was perfect. We arrived about 10:30, checked in right away, and were escorted to the waiting area. There were coffee and drinks available while you waited (free).
Around 11:30 we got on the bus that took us to the ship.
No issues at all.
Once on the ship, everyone headed for the WindJammer. They weren't opened yet and it started to get crowded so we went down to the ...
As this was my first cruise there was a lot to learn. There were things that I loved and things that absolutely went wrong.
The things I loved about Explorer of the Seas:
By far the best customer service I have ever experienced. I would hear people complain about some really silly things and they handled it perfectly. (i.e one couple always wanted to sit at the window for dinner. Our meal time ...
Took a 9 night cruise to the Caribbean from Bayonne, NJ in May, 2012. Visited Bermuda, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten and Labadee.
Cruise that we (wife and I) took in November was great. In May, we notice the following negative changes:
+ Dining Room menu degraded in choices and quality.
+ Dining room service so bad on the first two nights that we asked to be changed to a different table. Service at ...
First - I must explain that I had NO IDEA that President's Week meant that we'd be on a ship with 1100+ kids. President' week is not a week long break for schools in PA....their lucky if they get to keep the Monday off if they don't lose it to snow days. So of course we weren't too pleased with that as we are a couple in our mid 30s (my husband's in his early 40s) without kids. There were not ...
The embarkation process was fairly painless. We used the regular check in lines when we realized that we could have used the priority lanes since we had a junior suite. We did wait in the priority boarding area though, so that was nice.
Boarding was easy and the first opinions of the ship was great, very large and spacey feeling, got to our cabins around 1.30pm. The junior suites are large and ...
My husband and I are in our late thirties. I have cruised five times and this was our second. While I have always enjoyed cruising in the past, my husband is less of a fan, but he kindly indulges me.
We were really happy to be able to take advantage of the military discount on this cruise, making it cost around $900 a person for a balcony cabin on what was supposed to be a 10 night cruise - ...
This was our 5th cruise with RCL and the most disappointing. The ship is in dire need of overhaul. Our balcony was peeling paint chips the size of dollar bills. We received a note while at sea that the balcony was to be repainted but they never showed up. The ship came in with stained and dirty windows everywhere and were never cleaned. The carpets were stained and needed replaced.
We were stuck ...
Cruise left from Cape Liberty NJ.
I drove down from Montreal the day before and we stayed at Days Inn in Parsippany NJ. The motel is a 45 minutes driving to Cape Liberty.
On the way down my wife made a false movement and pinched a sciatic nerve so she had serious problem to walk. We arrived at the port at 1,15pm and there was so many persons for registration that the line was up to the exterior. ...
I recently took the explorer of the seas on Dec 11 to the 23. This cruise left from NJ which was nice because I was able to drive there seeing I live in Syracuse, NY. This was also my first cruise so I really didn't know what to expect. I have very mixed review about this cruise. I loved it because it was my first time to the Caribbean. I hated it for a lot of reasons though.
First the ...
