Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

Avoid The Independence of the Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Independence of the Seas

It's old. It's small. It's trying to copy the big ships but fails. And therefore it's so crowded everywhere that's popular! Deck 5 -Promenade- is at least 2/3 smaller than bug ships. I (I chose it because the big ships are just too hard for me to explore due to a recent disability) . But people congregate and it gets too crowded to move! Music however was great! The pools...a hard skip unless ...

This is the first time I have ever had a miserable cruise on RCL and had to really complain about what happen this past week. We had issues with cabin and the casino. Day 1 Everything was awesome like every cruise I take on Rcl. I was in Junior Suite arrived about 130pm went directly to the room to put our luggage up then explore the ship. I was going on this cruise with my best friend whose ...

First cruise, had a great time!

Had a company cruise coming up, and my partner was unable to go, and I was informed I owed her a cruise. Well, fair enough, booked this one, and had a lovely time of it. I will say that the city of Miami is a bit expensive and all of our uber drivers got lost at least once, so that was odd, but the cruise itself was fantastic. While I don't recall his name, our steward was particularly great, ...

TL;DR Our extended family of 13 (ages 2-77) took a five night cruise 12/28/23-1/2/24 on Independence of the Seas. Overall, we found the ship to be fun, the crew to be friendly and helpful, and dining to be adequate. Shows were good, (with one exception), and there always seemed to be something for most of us to do. Our biggest complaint would be issues with the release of information prior ...

Independence of the Seas: New Year's Eve Cruise

I chose this cruise because of Splashaway Bay for my 7 year old and because the ship was going to CoCo Cay. This review is about some very specific items and excursion options. 1. Soda package. Pros: The cups are nice and we'll be able to continue using them at home. Discovered Peach Fanta! Easily the best Fanta now. And many options available. Cons: In retrospect, not worth the $10 a day. We ...

After previously sailing on the Symphony of the Seas, I thought this was going to be a let down for the family but we were pleasantly surprised. Although smaller in size and less things to do, we still enjoyed ourselves. The service and friendliness of the staff throughout the entire ship was top notch. With a family of 5, we booked a junior suite and an interior room. Being an older ship, the ...

It was as expected for a bargain cruise

Chose a balcony on this cruise date as it was dirt cheap and a last minute deal. Was all I wanted, a room with a balcony with bare minimum expectations and sounds of the ocean waves. At the price point it met my low expectations as a floating people of walmart /golden coral. The thing I wish I could unsee was extremely heavy bottom women wearing a thong and see through sheer skirt in the promenade ...

KIDS EVERYWHERE

Kids outnumbered adults 8 to 1. If you want to know what a Disney Cruise is like, this was for you. LINES everywhere, don't get into a hurry, you had to wait for everything, alot of this was due to kids. ex: mom with 4 kids in buffet line trying to figure out what each child wanted to eat, while 2 of the kids were running around screaming. Staff wasn't knowledgeable, ex: at Coco Cay, asked one ...

Lovely ship, excellent crew and food

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Independence of the Seas

We wanted to get across the Atlantic without flying. This ship has exceeded our expectations. I love that even though they refurbished it, they have preserved the deck where you can walk around the whole ship outside and the stream/sauna changing room in the fitness center is still open to everyone. It doesn’t feel like the money grab that some do. The food has been consistently excellent, ...

It pains us to say that this was the worst cruise experience encountered and we have used 5 cruise lines and are Diamond Members with RCCL. Thr cruise was meant to be special for us but was simply a disappointment from day one which then just got worse. The ship looks fine from outside and a joy to look at. Day one emabarkation was excellent, however and accident on day one due to the ...
