Great cruise except for the beds & arcade noise

We booked our first cruise on a Carnival ship for my husband, adult daughter, and myself about a month before embarkation and received a call from Carnival ten days before our cruise offering us an upgrade from an Outside cabin to a balcony cabin at a discounted price. We decided to take the offer so we were moved to cabin #6388. We drove to North Bergen, NJ two days before the cruise to have a ...

Glory Trip to New England Sept 2013

This trip was a quickly planned trip when Celebrity canceled our Alaskan cruise. We have never cruised out of New York and found it easy to get to and the embarkment lines, though long, moved fairly quickly. Once we got on board we found our room. Nice, although the entry into the room is a bit narrow and if you are getting something from the closet, no one can go in or come out of the bathroom. ...

Labor Day Week Cruise on the Carnival Glory In July it was time for my wife and I to decide where to go for our annual trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After looking at several options we decided on this cruise since it was one of the few itineraries that did not include a port call in Boston a city we have visited on two other vacations to New England. To get to New York's Manhattan ...

I just returned from a 7 day New England/Canada cruise departing Manhattan. I can never become bored with that departure from New York, it's just jaw dropping. We sailed from Sept. 14th to Sept. 21. The weather was incredible, clear blue skies, calm seas and warm temperatures. The food in the dining room was generally very good. Our 3 waiters worked together with military precision for dinner ...

We are veteran cruisers of 18 cruises and were looking forward to this east coast intenary, which we had not done before. We spent two nights pre cruise in Manhattan which was a lot of fun. The cruise terminal seemed very organized and boarding was a breeze. We are Platium and were allowed to proceed directly to our cabin, which was ready at 12:30. Had a Guys Burger for lunch and were ready to ...

Just returned from Carnival Glory 7 night from New York to Halifax. Halifax was 88 degrees. I have personal suggestions. New York - we stayed one night at The Verve Hotel and taxied into Times Square and took the red hop on hop off bus tour. We didn't get off. We got off where we started, ate dinner, and returned to take the night light tour of New York. These were very different tours. Being ...

Just a bit disappointed

We have been on quite a few cruises and are Gold with Carnival. This cruise was rather a let down in a few areas. Cabin was fine, a bit dated and worn. The door to the balcony did not seal completely so even when closed there was some wind noise. Did enjoy that the temp is set on the shower. With the signage about being green in relation to towels and their reuse, I do wish that the cabin steward ...

The title of my review says it all. We live in New York City so leaving from the west side of Manhattan is great. We have often taken a subway but this time opted for a car service. Check in (as Platinum) was easy, but woe to those without status. We were traveling with two friends who waited about 1 1/2 hours to get through the process. Really? That's unacceptable. The main positives were the ...

Wonderful time and way to visit the maritime provinces

This was our first time aboard the Carnival Glory, and it turned out to be a pleasant ship to sail on. It was a very smooth journey. It was, however, a bit awkward in navigating to the formal dining rooms as their main entrances were not easily accessible from mid-ship - one had to go to the extreme stairs/elevators, whether forward or aft, to find the right way to enter them. But that's a minor ...

This was my eighth cruise, my sixth on Carnival, and my fourth on the Carnival Glory. I must admit I had reservations about cruising after the recent accidents, and it is more difficult to promote cruising to friends. But when my spouse took another long trip out of town, I decided it was a good chance to take the kids and my mother on a five day trip to Canada. The kids are experienced cruisers, ...
