We sailed on Carnival Vista on April 30, 2022.
We chose this cruise because we live in Texas and can drive to the Galveston pier. Our cabin was a grand suite which is their largest suite. It's about the size of 2 standard balcony cabins. Not even close to other cruise lines' upper level suites, but didn't cost as much either. The decor was minimally OK. The sofa "table" was quite small and ...
I took my family to Carnival 7-night Western Caribbean cruise between 04/09 and 04/16 on Carnival Vista departing from Galveston, TX.
I love cruise and have cruised with other cruise lines before, such as Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity. Since I have small kids now, I decided to take Carnival this time because it defines itself as a “fun” ship with lots of kids friendly amenities and ...
We were not worried about the Superbowl on this cruise, we were interested in Valentine's day. Savannah was such a fun cruise director that I wish she was going to be the CD on the Dream in November. If we wanted to see a show, we would have to start lining up 45 minutes to an hour before the doors would open or we'd be stuck with bad seats. The 1 comedy show we saw was funny. I was mad at the ...
We have cruised on carnival before about five or six times so I new that we should not expect anything over the top. Embarkation was behind schedule because a fugitive was on the prior cruise and the authorities wanted to arrest him so each passenger was screened which delayed our boarding. Not carnivals fault at all. Once we made it to the terminal everything was easy. In our room and bags ...
We chose this cruise because we did not want to fly over the Christmas holiday. Therefore our only option was to sail out of our home state; Texas. We wanted to be sailing during Christmas so our only option was this particular cruise. During the seven day trip, there was only one evening show.ONE!! And that particular singer incorporated the audience, so it wasn’t an actual theater show. We were ...
From a very experienced cruiser:
Pros
Great embarcation and disembarkion
Very clean and we'll kept ship
Extremely great staff. Very warm and positive.
The carnival hub AP was very easy to use and functional in planning our daily activities
Plenty of storage space in cabin
Cons
Average food at best - both dining rooms and all other areas
Very poor live ...
Nothing went well:
-Cabin wasn't clean
-They were not enforcing mask policy
-Embarkation took over 2 hours
-Debarcation was a joke - they weren't prepared for it - it took 3 hours to get off the boat
-Buffets were not open at more than 50%
I would definitely choose a different operator, boat and terminal. The Galveston terminal is not prepared for the crowds yet. "Security" ...
This was the worst Carnival cruise I have been on. The embarkation process was a little long, but I think that is the same for most cruises. Once on board, everything seemed to be perfect. We put our belongings away and headed to the muster station for the safety drill. We then changed into swimsuits and headed to the pool, ready for a cocktail and some R&R. When we ordered our drinks, we were ...
This is our opinion, we don't ask anybody to agree with us, and we will not engage in any debate.
From a completely chaotic check in to poor food and bar service, this cruise was a letdown from start to finish. Carnival has a reputation as a "party" cruise line and that reputation is well deserved. If you aren't into drinking and gambling there was nothing to do after dinner. Entertainment?? ...
Lets start with this dang coronavirus...You state you are taking extra precautions including medical evaulations before boarding. OH so filling out a sheet of paper is a medical evaultion! What are you people smoking! Here fill this out have you been to Asia? Are you sick? Have you been around someone who is sick? Now sign your name and get on the boat. You have got to be KIDDING ME!
Room ...
