Everything on this cruise was fantastic. The logistics were on the mark 100%; Viking has their act together. From the time they greet you to when you leave at the airport they are there to help you with everything. This was our first river cruise and my first time in Europe. We sailed on the longship Odin and was extremely pleased. This was nothing like a large cruise ship (which I have sailed on many many times - NCL, Carnival, Royal Caribbean). At first I was a little leery thinking there wouldn't be anything to do on the ship. Well...I am VERY thankful there wasn't big time shows, casinos, pools, etc. ...

The Cabin A was smaller than other Cabins I have had on previous river cruises. The service was great and the cabin was very well taken care of and in addition our cabin person made towel animals for us every day. The ports and shore excursions were very good but sometimes we didn't have enough time to investigate on our own and too much time, i. e., Trier, for personal time. Entertainment ...

We stared our trip with a pre-stay in Lucerne organized by Viking Cruises. The pick up at the airport in Zurich gave us the opportunity to see sights on our way to Lucerne.
