Embarkation was easy. Cabin key obtained on boarding. Luggage arrived quickly in cabin. Cabin compact. Small window just above water level. Kept clean. Head of bed only 10 inches from en-suite door. En-suite very compact. Plenty of storage space. Had to ask for bottled water to be replenished on 2nd day. Otherwise tea and coffee available. Dining not 5 stars as expected. Beware don’t get drinks package as only offered cheap house wine. Food and wine not as advertised. Service was slow. Ship appeared very short of staff. Coffee was poor quality, Earl grey tea was available after speaking to cruise manager. Excursions were well planned. Visited various towns along the Rhine. Lots of castles viewed while cruising. Went through 12 locks which was fascinating but did cause delays reaching ports. Disembarkation straight forward, but left at station with luggage for several hours. Holiday was run by Great Rail Journeys. Would not recommend. Would do another river cruise, as only 152 passengers no long queues boarding or disembarking for excursions. Read Less

Wanted to see specific towns on river rhine and we were not dissapointed The staff and the food was absolutely marvellous . I dont usually write reviews but this is a way of apology to all of amadeus Briliant crew for the non stop complaints of some of the passengers ranging from petty comments about the food to blagging some extra drinks just to keep them quiet .One person on the first day even said she paid more for her cabin than her friend the ship doesnt need to recompense anyone if someone got a better deal I felt ashamed to be English Rant over Once again all of you on that ship were fantastic and i would recommend anyone to try amadeus river cruises All the towns visited including Speyer Rudesheim Mannheim Koblenz Cologne were very easy access to get off the ship and quality time in the towns Also the walking tours of Speyer and Cologne were very informative...My next trip is going to be the Danube and i wont hesitate to check out Amadeus first in the hope of meeting up with the same staff Read Less

I thought it would be an easy, fun, luxurious way to travel, for the most part it was, but the food, except for breakfast, was not tastey,it was badly presented, and the portions were small. It felt like someone wanted to make a buck on our back, and it took hours to serve. Otherwise the serving team was nice and corgial. The rooms were small but very clean, and again, the cleaning team was great. There were some handicapped people who should have had mini buses for long walks, but they did not, and it slowed down the whole group. All the sites we visited were fantastic, and the sailing itself very pleasant. There was ver little entertainmen, which was just as well because the dinner took so long that everyone was too tired to enjoy it (may be that was the purpose of the slow service). I like this way of travelling, but I'd have to make sure first that the food is good and in abundance, and there is better entertainment. Read Less

My wife and I started cruise in Basel and stayed a couple days and took in that wonderful city. Check in could not have been more smooth. 132 passengers and 42 Pampering crew members. Destination was Amsterdam, which was not on my bucket list but I would put it there. We stayed for a couple days in Amsterdam. Room without a balcony was wonderful. The window powered down 1/2 way to allow plenty of air in and good viewing. Bathroom was just the right size with walk in shower. Plenty of closet/storage space Food was exceptional, presentation was exotic. Service was impeccable. Kamong and Edy from Bali were our two servers and they could not have been more detailed oriented. Off boat activities were great and well arranged. there were about 10 young people some as young as 10 that were all well behaved,. I would take this tour again. Read Less
