Viking had us covered! We were happy with the food, the service, the excursions, the staff! I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. My only complaints were the very small beds (and we had issues with the reservation process which I will send in separately). I was pleasantly surprised with my first cruise experience. The ship is small with only about 180 customers. There was always a place to curl up with a good book or watch scenery. It never felt too crowded.

Many things were very good to excellent. One item that needs improvement is WI-FI. We had trouble using Wi-FI. There were too many shore excursions. There was one each day. Loved it... However, Pretty cold in late October and early November. Morning fog prevented us from seeing the Castles along the Rhine. (I was really looking forward to that)! Even though we were bundled up, it was still in most cases, too cold to sit on the upper deck or outside.

We flew into Basel early to help acclimate to the time change and explore that city which we had never visited before. Enjoyed Basel very much. Had always wanted to try it, after rave reviews from colleagues and friends.
Booked late however so too last available cabin - on lowest deck.
Beware quoted cabin sizes, which are the TOTAL measurements, out of which you must deduct cupboard space, say 15 square feet and also the bathroom, say 40 square feet, which leaves just enough space for the bed surrounded by 1.5/2.0 feet.
