My wife and I have cruised many times and this itinerary was the second time for my wife. Everything about this cruise was wonderfu, from start to finish.
Food: We had early seating door dinner in the Vista dining and joined a table for six. We met two other wonderful couples. We enjoyed our meals so much we didn't even bother to book any meals in the specialty restaurants although we heard ...
First time with Holland America, although my 7th cruise. Had a Signature Suite for 3 of us. Plenty of room and closet space. Embarcation was easy. Room steward was great. I requested ice one day and for the rest of the trip had ice in the bucket. Had slippers and robes also. Bathroom was huge, 2 sinks, whirlpool bathtub and a separate shower. Also had a large section under the sinks to put ...
We cruised with another couple on Holland America for the first time this past September. We had read that the Zuiderdam had had a major face life last spring, but it must have been for the public areas, not the staterooms. The staterooms appear to be circa 1980s? Don't get me wrong - our suite had LOTS of room and the bathroom was the largest I have seen on a ship - double sinks, separate shower ...
I am writing this review to alert to how Fantastic and supportive Holland America Zuiderdam Customer Service Manager and Corfu Port cruise Agency Team dealt with my unfortunate experience of missing the ship! It is possibly everybody's worst nightmare & curiosity of what would happen. Trust me, I too have commented on crazy " people leaving it so late" rushing back onto cruise ships but as I now ...
As others have pointed out, the ship is not new, but there are just so many pluses about this ship, the little bit of rust just didn't deter me from thoroughly enjoying this cruise. After a week in bleak and cold England at my niece's wedding, I was ready for 11 days of sunshine and heat, and it started out very hot in Venice. I did a walk around Venice early the morning the day the ship was ...
This was our 5th HAL cruise in a row. The previous ones were on the Rotterdam and Ryndam, I was a bit hesitant about a Vista Class ship, it being a lot bigger. The Zuiderdam turned out to be a great ship, although a lot more pax on board than the on the Rotterdam and Ryndam , it was felt never crowded or busy.
Our cruise was the second one after the early april drydock, apart from some ...
We were on the Zuiderdam for a 22 day Venice to Rome to Barcelona vacation. Very port intensive, but most of the ports were wonderful. First part was Greece and Greek isles; second part was Italy, France and Spain. Ship was extremely comfortable and convenient. Crew was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Cabin (6041) was above average in space and storage. We never felt crowded. The elevators ...
We have sailed with HAL 4 other times and have not been disappointed. Our cabin was great, well kept, the furnishings were very comfortable. If you expect zip lines and water slides this is not the ship. If you want pampered service, excellent food and a relaxing vacation this is the cruise line. The entertainment is varied and you can always find something to do. The staff make this cruise ...
The Good. Flight over was long, uncomfortable and boring (boring is a good thing when flying!). Arrival at Marco Polo Airport in Venice was very smooth. HAL people were there to assist and to bus us to the ship. Embarkation was quick and easy. We were delighted with our cabin choice (and many thanks to Candy, the Zuiderdam Princess for all her helpful information). We were jet lagged out of ...
My wife and I were booked on the Venice to Barcelona cruise August 24 to September 5. This was our first HAL cruise but our sixth overall. We booked it online through a well know Internet travel agent. They did a good job, communicated with us often and arranged for a change of cabins for us when prices went down. We requested either a refund or an upgrade to a higher level cabin that had come ...
