Disappointing

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Spirit

We enjoy taking the end of the season cruises. Usually the crowds aren't as large and the temperature is nice. We have been on several cruise lines and have always preferred Carnival. But, our recent cruise to Alaska was very disappointing. CARNIVAL HUB APPLICATION: This application is frustrating to use. I could not stay connected to the Wi-Fi, and had to log in each time to use it. ...

My family decided a cool weather getaway from the desert heat was a great idea. So, Alaska here we come on the Carnival Spirit. I must say I was quite disappointed with the ship. Ok, we last sailed on the Carnival Panorama, which is an amazing ship and I am not trying to compare the two. The Carnival Spirit has an inconsistent, indecisive décor. Art Deco meets Old Masters meets Greek ...

Honestly price was a big factor because we were bringing a big group (total of 7). This includes 2 teenagers who were bored to death during anytime on board. I believe this is partially due to lack of crew. Bars closed early with no activities in them, just about only thing to do was trivia in an open area where you could barely hear the announcer. Cruise director Erin was mostly nowhere to be ...

I want to preface this review by noting that this was my first cruise and that the majority of the readers of this review are most likely seasoned crusiers, so please bare in mind. This cruise set sail on May 29th, 2012 from Seattle, headed towards Alaska. The process of getting on the boat wasn't bad, aside from the long lines. However, once aboard it's a little overwhelming as what to do ...

We were a group of 7 adults consisting of family and friends. We decided to fly into Seattle on Sunday, visit Pikes Market on Monday and board the Spirit Tuesday. We stayed at Sleep Inn Sea-Tac located near the airport as it offered affordable prices, airport transfers and free limited shuttle service. We were not disappointed. I had pre-booked the rooms in advance online for the best price. We ...

My in-laws wanted to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in Alaska. After four successful cruises with Carnival, my DH and I quickly suggested Carnival. A group of 20 sailed from Seattle to Alaska on the Spirit. It was the most expensive cruise we have taken and the least satisfactory. We ported in Skagway, a very small fishing village with nothing to do except shop. Juneau was larger ...

Background Info-I'm 26 and single from the Bahamas traveling with a group of people who wanted to experience Alaska. I was not thrilled about seeing Alaska and dealing with the cold weather however I wanted to experience a Carnival cruise ship. Hotel- We stayed in Seattle two days before the cruise at the Marriott Residence Courtyard ( I think that's the name). It was a beautiful hotel with a ...
