Grandeur cruise was okay

We went on this cruise because we won a "free" cruise from listening to a time share presentation. (Hubby and I have sailed on Carnival before but this was our first time on Royal Caribbean). By the time we upgraded to a cabin with a view (no balcony) and paid the taxes and fees it was far from free.. Embarkation was a nightmare. We received an email the day before saying the ship would arrive ...

Background information: My husband and I are in our 80s, and I use a small mobility scooter to help me get around. This was a cruise to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary with our four children. This was Bob's 19th cruise and my 30th cruise overall. It was his fifth and my sixth cruise on Royal Caribbean. We booked this cruise everyone could get off work on those dates and because it went ...

We selected this cruise because of the date. Wanted a place to celebrate a milestone birthday for hubby that departure was close to home. So we sailed out of Baltimore - destination was not important - but none of our 3 had been to Bermuda so an added bonus. We did connecting rooms - and my 93 yo dad was with us so we selected cabins close to an elevator. We did outside cabins on deck 2. ...

Third Cruise this year, Princess, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean Not all bad but Royal Caribbean was in 3rd Place Embarking & Disembarkment was extremely smooth & quick Grandeur of the Seas is an older ship but some things could be improved.... options/channels on the TV should be updated with OnDemand Movies & Shows and Interactive options, some things really showed the age like drapes ...

Great hardware. The loud music and Appleby's cuisine is disappointing

I wanted a cruise close to home not requiring an airplane flight. Ports did not matter. Grandeur is a human scaled ship at 74,000 tons, not too big, not too small. It also has a proper boat deck promenade where one can commune with the sight, smell, and sound of the ocean. This feature is eliminated from many recent builds. The ship: I really like this ship based on the overall feel, the ...

This was my first time on Royal Caribbean. I have cruised with Carnival over 16 times. I have been told that I should not judge Royal Caribbean based on this ship, so I will try to bring out as many positives as I can. I do have another one booked on the Anthem of the Seas, so I will reserve a more general opinion of Royal Caribbean after that cruise. Here are my negatives about the Grandeur ...

Great cruise for seniors/retirees, not so much for 18-40 year olds

Grandeur is a great ship with great staff but has seemed to tailor its daily activity schedule for the retirees/seniors that frequently travel on this ship. This was my second sailing on Grandeur (last one was a 7 night to Bermuda in 2015) and although I had similar expectations to some of things I remembered on my first sailing, I did not expect this sailing to be so boring during the day and ...

Older ship

This ship was built in 1992 I believe, and it is showing it’s age. If you have children 5 and under, the activities for them are poor. The food was good, overall. Staff was very attentive and personable. Movie choices were lacking. Showing movies about terrorists was not appropriate with so many teenagers and younger kids present, in my opinion. The arcade was extremely small and choices were ...
