We sailed with a group, so did not choose this cruise or stateroom. The food overall was pretty good and the specialty dining was very good, with the exception of Izumi. In general, the food was a "hit" for us. So glad to see Starbucks available onboard (extra cost)
Entertainment was hit or miss, some shows were very good like the comedians and aerialists, while the boradway-style performances ...
This was our third cruise on Royal Caribbean and we’re sad to say that we were disappointed in the Rhapsody.StateroomA few days before we were set to leave the Upgrade Fairy paid a visit and we were moved from a D1 balcony on deck 7 to junior suite 8010, which is an accessible room. This was our first time in a suite (if you really want to count a JS as a suite) and the room was huge compared to ...
It was along wait in line at embarkation. I've had worse but many better experiences. Seems to be a problem with all the cruise lines I've been on. We were notified they had an outbreak of norovirus on a previous cruise and our cabins wouldn't be ready for an additional 1-2 hours. Shockingly our room didn't appear to have any extra cleaning done except for removing the ice bucket (not to be ...
Embarkation was efficient, warm & quick. No band playing live when we first got on like other cruises in the past.
I asked if the entertainment director was new since the level of this service seemed to be novice. Many activities dragged on and did not include most of the audience but a few guest only with the majority being forced to be a spectator.
Personal shopping director seemed to ...
Background: This cruise was for our 10 year anniversary and my wife really wanted to see Alaska. We have sailed multiple times on Royal Caribbean and once on Disney.
We booked our cruise through Royal Caribbean and the whole process was fairly straight forward with no major issues.
Embarkation: We flew into Seattle the day of the cruise and took the paid transfer from the airport to the ...
We just returned from our 7 nights on the Rhapsody. We have done basically the same itinerary to Alaska on Princess, NCL, and now RCI. I decided to try the RCI Rhapsody because everybody seems to be so loyal to RCI. The ship had just been refurbished so I was eager to check it out. We traveled with a 6 year old and an infant.
Pros:
Kids club is superb say hi to "Grandpa" up in in the kid's club. ...
I'll begin with the beginning. The entire process for getting onto the ship took nearly two hours. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the prolonged standing and an i-pod to drown out the noise of surly adults and screaming children. The next issue I'd like to bring to light is the constant demand that we use alcohol based hand sanitizer which is well-known to be ineffective against the ...
This cruise was a total mixed bag of both good and bad. We chose this cruise because we had not seen Alaska in a long time, and Royal Caribbean had received many kudos for being the best cruise for babies. (We have a 15-month-old). So we went with the "Rhapsody of the Seas." We were able to board just fine at 1130. Got to our room to find twin beds and a collapsed Pack-n-play tossed on the floor. ...
We cruised from Seattle, and spent the night in a hotel downtown we booked through Hotwire at a good rate. I'm glad we spent the night, as we headed straight from our hotel to the pier at 10:30, and there was NO line at all. I advise you go early for boarding to avoid lines. Getting off the ship was quick and easy as well, but we went by our luggage tags and disembarking information exactly as ...
We were looking for the alaskan adventure and sought a new fantastic way to relax and be floated there in luxury . What we encountered was an absolute gem of a destination only diminished by the management style of the RCI ship Rhapsody of The Seas and it's "faulty tower" like style of operating a floating hotel . We enjoyed an outside cabin on deck 3 that leaked allowing freezing air to chill us ...
