Wow, Royal Suite on Radiance of the Seas

We wanted to see as much of Alaska as possible and this was the perfect itenary. We saw almost All the big places except Glacier Bay as Royal does doesn’t travel there. We missed two years of cruising and received bonus FCC so we leveled up to the Royal suite. That suite is amazing, so amazing that we rarely left. We ate in our suite in front of the open sliding glass doors or on our huge deck ...

Spectacular, through the rain and a few rays of sun

From boarding in Vancouver to departure in Seward, our Alaska getaway was SPECTACULAR! The crew on Radiance provided service beyond expectations and made sure every guest had everything they needed and more. Our cabin steward, Rico, made sure we got a lighter blanket as the comforter was too thick and hot for us; brought ice and extra towels. He was there when we needed him, friendly and ...

Not up to RCL standards

This was a substitute cruise for one originally booked w/Princess. We decided to go on another Alaska cruise for various reasons and settled on RCL for this one. This was the fourth cruise we had taken with them so we had certain standards that we expected. Unfortunately, we were disappointed on some of them. First and foremost was the food in the Windjammer buffet. Not only was the selection ...

I have done many cruises and this was the worst. The food on the Radiance of the Seas was horrible. No good seafood even though cruising in Alaska. The lack of good entertainment was sad. Normally the entertainment during the evenings is great but not this time. Very little to do in the evenings since the lack of entertainment. Sad their is now a fee for room service. Not sure when this ...

Our family (two adults and two adult sons) were excited to be able to do this vacation to Alaska. We traveled all the way from Florida and were really looking forward to it. I knew the ship was an older, smaller version of the "Mega Ships" but really wanted to do this itinerary and didn't care much about the fanciness of the ship or all the extra stuff on board. Room -4 stars: We booked two ...

Royal diarrhea

3 out of 4 people in our group had food poisoning with diarrhea and vomiting after having eaten the same souffle in the main dining room. This meant that the following days we were very low on energy. This was especially hard for my parents who are in the seventies. Talked to guest services, expecting an excuse and that they might offer some extras onboard. But not to much avail. They did offer ...

Nice Cruise

This is our first time visiting Alaska. We also had a train/bus tour following the 7-day cruise. The ship was older, but clean and well managed. The service was good throughout the entire cruise. Ports of call were good. The train bus tour following the cruise was good as well. We had excellent motel accommodations on this leg of the journey. I have only one complaint. The boarding process was ...

The cruise started in Seward. Stopped in Juneau. Skagway. Icy straight. Haines. Hoonah and Ketchikan ending in Vancouver. Amazing independently booked excursions. But. When I checked in. The bathroom toilet was full of poop. Room has not been cleaned. The room has smelled like sewer the entire trip. The food is pretty bad except the specialty restaurants have been great. It’s mostly very ...

I had read reviews about the ship being old and run down, so we boarded with low expectations. We found the ship to be in good shape, not sure why people complain. Most people say an Alaskan cruise isn't about the ship anyway. Our cabin was great. We loved the balcony and were surprised how often it was warm enough to be out enjoying the beautiful scenery. Bed was comfortable, couch a little worn, ...

Sailed B2B Northbound and southbound. Check in was very smooth, enjoying Windjammer buffet by 11:45 am. We've circumnavigated Australia/New Zealand 30 plus days on the Radiance so we were very familiar with this ship. Itineraries were excellent considering cruising have restarted in Alaska. Cabin steward and dining services were impeccable. Safety and health protocols were impressive. This ...
