An entertaining trip with an entertaining Captain

Although our cruise choices are by no means exclusively with Saga, we chose this cruise as we have enjoyed several cruises with them in the past and this one particularly suited us having recently had a few health issues to cope with. We're never quite convinced that Saga's all-inclusive offering is the value for money they claim it to be but the fact that (nearly) everything is paid for in ...

We wanted some winter sun and friends had recommended Saga. We had never sailed with them before but do prefer smaller ships to the large monstrosities that the 5-6,000 passengers. Very good journey to Portsmouth and very smooth embarcation, our cabin was ready when we boarded. The cabin was very clean and the bathroom adequate the only negative was the lack of room in front of the wardrobe. The ...

The ultra all inclusive service by Saga was the main attraction when booking , transport door to door , insurance , excursions were excellent . On arrival the time from being dropped off at the terminal to eating lunch in the open sitting Grill was less than 20 minutes . Booking the included alternative dinning was no problem booking the 3 venues for out 14 day cruise . The food without ...

I am writing this from a disabled passenger's point of view. We chose this company because of its reputation for caring for those who do not move so easily. The taxi arrived at the promised time and we loaded it up with our cases and aids. The journey from Cheltenham to Portsmouth has an estimated time of around two hours. The morning was very wet and unpleasant. Shortly after we set off I ...

Last year we went on the Discovery same time similar itinerary, and I gave it 5 stars for everything, so we were happy to book this cruise on her sister ship. Transfer to ship excellent, boarding ok, cabin only had one chair and one tooth mug ,soon sorted, first disappointment , no art classes only craft, never mind not a deal breaker, first shower, flooded the whole bathroom floor, used all the ...

Being picked up from home is such a joy. Taken to Portsmouth, checked in and shown to the Grill for our lunch whilst the luggage was being taken to our room. We had been on the sister ship last time so thought we would try this one plus a bit of warmer weather would be good in winter. The staff were excellent as usual, food selection was vast and very tasty. Entertaining was good, could ...

Chosen as an 80’s Extravaganza on ValiantLady - Virgin’s brand new ship. We were Allocated tickets for 3hours of music entertainment over 11nights! (Couldn’t even choose our own nights - so caused issues if you’d booked restaurant on that night!) Of the five headline acts two had their own individual sets, (Tony Hadley and Martin Fry) and the three female artistes (Toyah, Carol Decker (NOT T’Pau ...

Where do I start I ask myself? The whole experience was fraught with difficulties. Conflicting information, 09.03.2022, an email saying we needed a certified negative PCR or LFT (they prefer to call it Antigen) 72 hours before embarkation so we ordered online. 12.03.2022, another email advising we needed to order from their preferred partner at the discounted price of £4.98 which would be ...

We booked this cruise as it sounded really great . We booked through Imagine Cruising and it was called 80’s Spectacular. What a let down. We only had 2shows at the end of the cruise . We were only able to go to one show . Loved Tony Hadley and Carol Decker but that was a personal choice. Weather wasn’t great and that wasn’t down to anyone but there wasn’t much to do . We have cruised for over 30 ...
