Sirena inaugural voyage came too early.

Was this inaugural voyage cruise interesting? Yes and no..... yes because.. Christening Ceremony is probably a once in a livetime event. Several special gifts.... With J. Pepin and Claudine abord, you can expect some excellent food, and they delivered it,for the time the Pepin's were abord ( 2 may ? ) after that date there were some hits and misses. No because... This ship was ...

Overall Great, with Some Concerns

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

I was interested in the ports especially Istanbul and was very disappointed when they changed Istanbul as the final destination to Athens. It was for security reasons so really can't blame Oceania. The cruise was real good but decided that I wouldn't go on another cruise that stopped in a different port every day. There is no time to enjoy the on board activities. Food and service were ...

Just returned from the 11/18 Transatlantic sailing onboard the Riviera. The ship is beautiful, the crew was attentive, and to food was good. Warning: If you are an O cheerleader and don’t want to read anything negative about O, don’t read any further! This review is meant to share our experience from our perspective. By way of introduction, we are in our 60’s and have been on 70+ cruises. This ...

Overall very pleased. The food was plentiful but served luke warm all the time except in Red Ginger and Jacques. The Grand Dining room was very impressive but if you sat with others, by the time the meal was served, again luke warm. The Terrace restaurant was a bit more acceptable as you helped yourself up to a point, so the food was slightly hotter. These comments had been passed on but ...

First time cruiser on Oceania. Ship was beautiful, accommodations very nice. Did not go for the concierge level, glad we did not...no real benefit, as you are not on the ship that much and we booked our own excursions prior to boarding. Outstanding crew and service throughout! Food in specialty restaurants was outstanding, especially in Red Ginger. Food in Grand Dining Room was good, but ...

This was our second cruise on Oceania the first one was on Marina and this latest one on Riviera, they are identical sister ships. The ship is relatively new and very attractive with good amenities including a fairly decent WiFi for a ship. Our cruise had a busy schedule with ports everyday from Barcelona around the Northern Mediterranean coat of France and Italy ending up in Rome. Stopping in ...

This was our second cruise with Oceania. The first was on the Marina on the Baltic cruise about 2 years ago. We enjoyed that one so we tried another one. This time we did the 8 day western Mediterranean cruise between Barcelona and Rome. The ships (Marina vs Riviera) are almost identical, with the only difference I detected being in design elements like furniture or rugs. The service on the ...

Background: Married, 60's with about 50 cruises including 6 Oceania and this same cruise and ship 2 yrs ago. Summary and Oceania update: This line has rightfully held the reputation for the best cuisine on the seas since it formed 11 yrs ago, but it has been through 2 ownership changes in the last several years and now belongs to NCL. The once great food is gone both in terms of high quality ...

We have sailed three times with Oceania. Once on one of the smaller ships, once on Marina and once on this sailing on Riviera. We are booked to sail again on Riviera on a 10 day sail through the southern Caribbean in January of 2017. Oceania is a very nice cruise line. We have sailed with Viking, Norwegian, and Celebrity as well as on many other small cruise ships. Oceania has beautiful ships ...

Needs communications improvements

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

The cruise was generally satisfactory. The food, with some exceptions (such as the Polo Grill steak house) was quite good. The staff throughout the ship was helpful and pleasant, and it does a good job in necessary tasks such as waiter/waitress service, housekeeping, the selection of local guides, etc. My only significant complaint, and one noted by several other passengers, is that communications ...
