Cabin: Our mid ship balcony on deck 9 was very clean, very quiet, but on the small side. The bathroom, specifically the shower, was the largest and nicest we have had which made up for the smallish room. The Balcony was average. Our Steward, Rey was outstanding and greeted us by name day one. He quickly learned our routine and was waiting for us in the evening when we returned and would open the door for us so we did not have to find our key. We always had clean towels and a clean room. He quickly removed the items from the refrigerator so we could use it for our water, etc. Although not necessary for us, we were treated to a fabulous towel animal/creature each night. Around day 3 of the cruise, Rey left a large and very nice bar of soap for us to use in the shower. This is an old ship and smoking used to be permitted in the rooms. There were a couple of times when we did get a slight cigarette smell in the room, but it was not all the time and it did not last. Read Less

The room was well maintained and about of the size expected. The balcony however seemed a bit small, but large enough for two chairs and small table. A couple of picky items regarding the room: the safe was almost on the floor so you had to stoop down and use your glasses to enter the combination code--would have been much better higher up in the closet; the television, on the other hand was a bit too high in that we had to raise the remote above your heads if watching television from the bed; would have preferred that the bed lamps be further away from the headboard.
