This was our 10th cruise so I am not new to cruising. We did one other Norwegian cruise, on the Gem from NY, and that was a little better.
The pro's on this cruise were leaving from Boston as we live in Massachusetts. Bermuda was amazing and had a great time while there. We did get a great on a last minute deal on the cruise ($499pp on inside room). The ship was renovated a month before our ...
Family members could only get off this week the whole summer and they have children so to keep the price down we went out of Boston since we wouldn't have to fly. NCL claims to have spent all this money to rehab this ship but more than half of the bathrooms were out of order!!! You couldn't enter any ladies room without at least one "out of order" sign. One ladies room actual had 4 signs out of ...
We chose this cruise because two couples in our party had never cruised before. We were able to keep the expenses lower without having to add air. Our embarkation experiences went as we expected and our sail away was entertaining. Having sailed before on Norwegian Majesty and several times on Celebrity Cruises, I was disappointed with many of the services offered by Norwegian Dawn.
The ...
This was very first cruise ever. I planned this family vacation to celebrate my Husband and I's 20th anniversary, Fathers Day and my sons acceptance to College in the Fall. We were very excited to be on our first cruise together hoping for many more. Much to my disappointment I could not wait to get off the ship from the first day. It started at the baggage check in. They had no manifest to assist ...
We took this same cruise last year on a very tired ship. We were told she was scheduled for a refit and figured it would be nice to see the changes. The ship was very nicely updated BUT was staffed with a new crew! The boarding process in Boston was horrendous. Two hours from cab arrival to the gangplank. A watering station along the Bataan Death March like check in would have been nice. Why do we ...
My wife and I had gone on another cruise and after that trip, I told my wife that it would be our last. usually when on a cruise, I feel like I am on a schedule and always waiting in line to do something.
My wife had won the cruise so that was the only reason that I had agreed to go. the overall trip was very nice and we had enjoyed our time but overall, I was disappointed with the quality of ...
Our group was 15 people in 5 different rooms. Let me first say that my family and I have cruised before some of us more than 3+ times on other Cruise lines. We are all pretty laid back average type people. Ages of our group were from 3yrs old up to 65. Most of the adults are 35-42 years old. We are not big complainers or high maintenance people!
We paid over 3k for our balcony room and 2,100 ...
The pool area was a huge disappointment with people reserving deck chairs at 6 am and nobody enforcing any rules left zero opportunity to get a chair or even go in the pool.
The dining room food was excellent, but the buffet did not change much and was blah, and the soft serve machine never seemed to be working.
The entertainment was also difficult to get into because of ...
We took the Dawn out of Boston this summer to Bermuda. That was the great part, we had a short distance to travel to get there. However, at the terminal I had to hand off my bags to a worker and my son asked if we should tip him. I was in a rush, so I said,"no, he just put it on a cart." Another worker was standing there and said "if you want to see your bag again, you better tip him". ...
This was our 5th time sailing with NCL...it may be our last. This ship was by far the worst. We should have sailed for Bermuda out of NYC instead of Boston. It is not that the Dawn is an older ship (although the beds were terrible.) The staff on this ship just do not seem to care. Then ordering dinner in the Venetian or Aqua the waiters attitude towards you quickly changes once you tell them you ...
