What a Disappointment

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This cruise was over a year in preparation. Many of us were first time cruisers. We were a family of 12 looking forward to a Mediterranean Cruise and spent thousands of dollars in both excursions and for the cruise itself. We never made it to our first port Athens due to high winds and were stuck at sea, this in combination to already 2 days of scheduled sea days. We lost all our money on our ...

We had originally booked a cruise through the Greek Islands and Turkey to Rome on the NCL Epic but it was canceled and this was the next best itinerary for the dates we had available for our vacation. The first problem arose when our luggage took until nearly 9:30pm to be delivered to our stateroom. And upon getting into our balcony cabin We had a a letter informing us that the ten day thermal spa ...

Overall a good time, but service is slipping

We chose this cruise largely due to the great itinerary (Italy, Greece and Malta) and the price (November is low season and prices were good, but more on that later). We embarked on November 2 and disembarked November 12. The ship is very, very large, and was much more crowded than we expected, given that fewer ships sail the Mediterranean in November than, say, summertime. We did a combination of ...

My wife chose this cruise mainly due to our starting and stopping in Rome {Civitavecchia}, so we spent a few days in Rome after the 10-day adventure. Starting off with a late embarkation due to serious plumbing issues on deck 8, we had a nice first day at sea but arrived late to our first port, Santorini. Taking the cable car was the best way to make the most of an excursion that only lasted a few ...

Too noisy and poor cruise director

Ok, first the good. The food is pretty reasonable. We eat at speciality restaurants , the buffet and the three included restaurants. Manhattan room restaurant was a bitt too big and noisy for us but the others were very nice. The restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food good. The speciality restaurants were great and $25 extra for Lobster seemed fair. There were garlic ...

We love to cruise with Norwegian! They always do a great job with service and cruise pricing. We always do the Free at Sea with Unlimited Open Bar Package. Its the only way to travel! The only thing that was missing on the Breakaway was an observation lounge where you can hangout. The Bliss has a great observation lounge!! The overall dining experience for the most part is good and the special ...

The ship and its ports

Cruised the mediterranean to italy and greece. Let start with the ship. Not the top of the line when it comes to luxury. Staterooms are smaller than any other line we’ve been on. On to the food. breakfast never charged. Some may see that as a good thing but would have enjoyed a morning with pancakes eggs over easy and sausage patties. In their defense you could get eggs over easy at the omelette ...

I choose this cruise because we wanted to cruise the Mediterranean. The ship is beautiful. We usually cruise an inside cabin to save money. When I entered the comforter was not clean. The room looked a bit disheveled. The room steward fixed the problem and was very nice. However 10 days we had cleaning carts outside our rooms in the hallway. It must have been where they stored them. The ...

Our First Cruise and we couldn't have chosen better

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

I've always wanted to go on a cruise and we finally managed it. What an experience. Our budget only allowed for an inside cabin but what a nice surprise. The cabin, though small was exceptionally well laid out and comfortable with ample room for our clothes, luggage and necessities. Eggie, the young lady assigned to the upkeep of our cabin, was so pleasant and helpful and took good care of our ...
