Heartless RC would not move my sail date or cancel and reimburse despite my pleas as my Mom, an 87 year old victim of Hurricane Maria was alone, with no electricity, water or any means of communication. The Voom is a waste of time. Doesn't work half the time and when it does it knocks you off every 2 hours. The drink package is exorbitant. Not worth it unless you have 5 or more drinks each per day. Smoking on board is ridiculous and a health hazard even though in designated areas. You have to run through them to go eat. Really? The shows were lame for the most part. Loud and confusing. Most of the staff is very good and helpful. The food in the main dining rooms is mediocre at best. The Bingo is a major rip off. The clubs are fun, the music ok. The on board merchandise is expensive. Read Less

We choose this cruise to see New England and some of Canada. Anthem of the Seas is a beautiful ship. Ten of the elevators have quirky character photos on the back wall. It was a challenge to get a photo of all ten. The esplanade is beautiful with a winding staircase and a huge hanging tear drop lights that flash. You can place your hands on a stand near the light and change the pattern of the blinking lights with your pulse. This is also where all the shops and customer service is located. We had a balcony cabin which was so nice to step out for fresh air. I love the glass doors on the showers instead of the old shower curtains which allowed water to soak the floor. The bed is very comfortable and roomy. We had a couch in our cabin and a makeup table with a small chair. There are plenty of activities on the ship. We played a lot of trivia, rode the bumper cars, watched some cruisers surf and fly! We are older so we opted to enjoy watching. The ship has movies out by the pool every day. We got on the North Star in Cape Liberty. I recommend North Star at a port so you can see landmarks. The crew is fantastic. They really seem to love their jobs and enjoy talking to passengers. It's nice to meet new people from different parts of the world and learn a bit about them. Their friendliness made the cruise very comfortable. We booked 3 excursions with the ship but did a few things on our own. With the ship we booked the Peggy's Cove / Hop on Hop off. This is a must! Don't miss Peggy's Cove in Halifax. We also booked the Lobster Bake and Acadia National Park tour. If you are a lobster lover you have to do this one. The Acadia tour was very informative and we had several beautiful stops. The buses were very comfortable. For those who like lobster the lobster bake was great. If you prefer, you can choose steak but keep in mind they do not cook the steak to order. It's all pre cooked. Most of the steak looked fairly rare. I have stopped eating meat so I had the corn on cob and two small potatoes. I would have rather had been offered a vegetarian meal but was never offered that. I did see someone in another group eating a pasta dish and he said he was a vegetarian and they offered it to him. So it was a waste for me. But the good thing is I ate like a pig when we got back on the ship! In Portland we just went out and my friends had lobster rolls. Then a few of us went on a trolley tour on our own. Great info from our tour guide. It was also raining so we stayed dry while seeing the city. In Boston we walked the freedom trail. It is a good way from the ship to get started so you may walk about 3 miles before you hit the trail and follow it around the city. Boston was a walk! In St John I did the photography tour. They have a local photographer as your tour guide and take a small group to about 4 different places to shoot. She gave great tips and even took photos of us using our cameras so we could have a memory! This was a great tour and I would highly recommend it even if you are just using your cell phone camera. Embarkation and Disembarking was so easy. We had a flight out early after the cruise and just carried our bags off at 7:30. Everyone made their flight on time. Read Less

Checking in was fast and easy, ship was really clean. Cabin was clean, all of the attendants were super nice and friendly...except on jerk who started putting away the food at 2:45 in the windjammer while I was trying to get something from the serving tray. Foo dwas excellent! Entertainment and activities such as games shows, comedian was great, Spectras Cabaret was awesome, best show I've seen by far. Other entertainment was good. Didn't see too much for the kids to do other than the pool and run around. Dinks are waaay too expensive which is why I only gave 4 stars. I waited to get the drink package, and by the time I got on the ship the cost had doubled to 600 dollars....NOT!! Drinks run $11- $15 dollars a whop! So get the package ONLINE!! Ship was small compared to the Oasis. But all in all it was really nice, I would go again. Next ship, Harmony of the Seas!! Read Less

We were on this cruise last year and were forced to return two days early because of weather conditions. We were given a fantastic deal to rebook on this cruise. Thank God we did. It was the best cruise ever. So many shows and activities to choose from. Each was better than the last. The stateroom was kept so clean thanks to Sookressen Mahadoo. He was pleasant and fulfilled every request with a smile and an occasional towel animal. He was great. The dining was equally as great with Amir and Carmen. What a great team. They were professional while friendly and very accommodating. The food was prepared to perfection and always delicious. The entire Royal Caribbean crew was extremely pleasant and accommodating from the Windjammer to the activities. I can't say a negative thing about the cruise or anyone on it. The excursions were both informative and wonderful. The onboard shows rivaled the best Las Vegas shows. I especially enjoyed Finis Henderson, the ventriloquist and Katrina Love. Not only did they provide a wonderful show, they were also personable and pleasant wherever spotted outside the stage. The ship was clean and well presented. Read Less

The big ship attract our attention. Embarkation was extremely fast. Disembarkation was fast on cruise and it was long line in the port. We were in the balcony cabin 6518. Big cabin, relaxing balcony, wonderful service make this vacations unforgettable. Our steward always smile, greeting us and did the great job in the cabin. He was above and beyond. We eat in different restaurants. We have the same table and the same waitress on different restaurants. He was polite, but forgot to tell about special, forget to bring water and was very slowly compare with the waitress near by. I don't thing that the head of this group take my critic seriously. Grande has little bit better food than other restaurants. The best service we have in the buffet on the 14 floor. Very clean, very fast service in the busiest area of the ship. The diversity and quality of the food in the buffet was better then in the most of restaurants. 10 star to the service in the buffet. Read Less

We chose the Anthem for the onboard activities, however everything needed a reservation and the only thing that we were able to do was use the bumper cars. Although the bumper cars were fun. The fact that we could not use anything else was very disappointing. Also reservations needed to be made for every meal and show. Restaurant food was salty and average. The buffet food was good but the same every day. No food available other than a pizza place after the shows. I believe everything shut down about 9pm. Cabins were very nice as well as the balcony. We were able to have the partition unlocked to open our family member's balcony next to us. That was very nice. Room service menu was almost non existent. It would have been so nice to have a meal on the balcony...disappointing in deed. Although the ship was lovely, it was crowded and too large for my tastes. Too large to accommodate the passengers. Paying the extra money for this cruise but unable to use the onboard attractions was by far the most disappointing. I would not recommend this ship. Hours were spent trying to make endless reservations. Read Less

The Liberty Of The Seas staff was outstanding. Ship was very clean and the Balcony State Room was very comfortable. The Buffet did leave a lot to be desired. We did expect better quality and a change up of the variety. Overall is was OK. The Dining room staff was way above our expectations. The food was of better quality then the Buffet. But nothing that really excited us. The specialty restaurants required an additional fee for an extended menu. That being said was a disappointment. The entertainment was mediocre, expect the Saturday Night Fever performance which is a must see. Overall we had a good experience. AS an fYI you need to be patient when trying to use the elevators during peak times, awe full. Read Less

We are Diamond level members with Royal Carribean and really looked forward to this new and exciting ship. It was one delay or excuse after another, starting with a 4 hour delay to board the ship and another 3-4 hours to get our luggage. The ship is beautiful and has many technology features not found on other ships. Unfortunately, no one seems to know how to use the technology! The ships also employs a dynamic dining concept, which would be great if you knew this before sailing and had your reservations secured. Once on board, everything seems to be full and you are shuffled from one place to another. There never seemed to be enough restaurant seats (yet tables always open), shows full (yet many empty seats), and events open with minimum hour wait times. We selected this ship for the new and innovative activities, yet never had the patience to wait in line over an hour to participate. This ship does not provide the great service Royal Carribean is known for. As my 8 year old grandson stated perfectly......"this place is chaos!" Read Less

Our Cruise – Celebrity Summit –Roundtrip from Port Liberty to Bermuda– June 29 to July 6, 2014 This was a honeymoon cruise for my wife and I. I have personally sailed on NCL and she has sailed on NCL, RCI and Celebrity in the past. Between the 2 of us we have 10 cruises under our belts. We chose Celebrity as it claims to be a luxury cruise experience, as NCL’s Breakaway was doing an identical cruise, its port was easier to get to (In Manhattan) and was less expensive. Travel to Cape Liberty cruise port from Manhattan was reasonable and comfortable in a town car hired specifically for this trip, minimal wait for the driver to park and get our luggage into a porters hands and us into the line to get on board. Our embarkation, although traveling Concierge Class, did not seem to get us any faster service than others traveling in other classes. Once we checked in , received our boarding cards and picture taken, we were immediately allowed onto the ship. The Summit shows signs of age, rust in many places. It was recently “solticized”, thus it has newer TV’s in the cabin, and I am sure other things as well were updated, but it still seemed like an older ship. Dining was as good in the Main, Q-Sine & Normandie restaurants, although portions were small. The Café was poorly laid out and a lot of time was spent traversing the entire area to find what you wanted to eat and drink. Activities on this ship seemed very limited, at least for us. Bingo was very expensive and the games played were a joke, single line, four corners and X, thus total time of regular Bingo was about 30 minutes. Final day Bingo they added coverall and the drawing for the free cruise, this maybe added 20 minutes. Be advised, the raffle tickets for the free cruise do not only come from Bingo Players, casino also offers raffle tickets based on amount played in the daily lottery. Needless to say, on this cruise the cruise winner was someone who probably paid for it twice over, as I personally saw him put over 100 tickets into the hopper. The staff and service were deplorable, with a few exceptions. The Captain, Cruise Director, Captain’s Club Concierge and 2 Bartenders did their job very well. Our cabin Main cabin Steward was useless, her assistant at least was tolerable. Reminder, we were in Concierge Class, had to ask for towel animals, daily flowers in room apparently is no longer part of the package, although it is still listed as an amenity, free champagne that came with room, although iced upon arrival, was never re-iced until it was brought to their attention. Had an issue on this cruise and needed Guest Relations Desk to assist in sorting it out, useless they were. Met an Officer at Meet and Mingle who promised to help sort out our issue, promised to get back to us, never heard from or saw him again. Captain’s Club Meet and Greet is where we met Captain’s Club Concierge and she did everything within her power to appease us, but by this time things were snowballing out of control and the whole trip had been ruined. Please see my summary below for details. The one excursion out of three we pre-purchased was excellent. It was the Sunset Catamaran. Included bottomless Rum Swizzles or Champagne, crew was funny and informative, was not crowded and I highly recommend it. The other two were cancelled, first due to choppy seas and the other for some undisclosed operational issue. We managed to really enjoy Bermuda even without our pre-planned excursions and I will definitely visit this island paradise again. Our disembarkation was slightly hectic, we were sent from our aft cabin all the way to the front of the ship, the ships theatre, there were more people than seats and some were standing in the halls and aisles making navigation difficult. Our luggage was at the other end of the terminal and we had to wait in line for a porter to assist us. Travel from Port Liberty via Taxi is absurd, they have set prices that are twice what you will pay if you arrange a car service. My summary will not be complete without stating these facts as well. I secretly purchased the Birthday Package ($ 40.00) for July 1st and the Premium Romance Package ($ 225.00) that was to be put in our room upon embarkation. It was not, when cabin steward was queried, she stated that was to be done on the same day as birthday package, of course this was stated in front of my wife, and thus both of my surprises were now blown. This prompted the first visit to Guest Relations Desk, they assured me it would be corrected at this time and I hoped it was all taken care of. Unfortunately it was not, a phone message received 2 hours later stated it was not going to happen until July 1st. Prompting my second visit. The Premium Romance Package includes slippers, robes- not the robes they put in your room, as I expected, but a very cheap and light-weight version, a better bottle of champagne than provided just for booking the room, and a dinner at a specialty restaurant of our choosing. Well upon bringing it to their attention that the slippers were not going to be as useful if we do not get them until the 3rd night of our cruise they managed to get it done on that evenings turn down, a little late, but better than 3 days later. They were also to secure our dinning arrangements at Normandie for the evening of July 1st at 6:30 PM. On July 1st I just happen to check and verify our time for dinner and this reservation was never made, and this time slot was no longer available, we ended up having to eat earlier than we wanted at 5:30 when they opened. Overall I have had better service in an inside cabin than was received on this luxury cruise lines concierge class.   Read Less
