Nice cruise! Lost two ports due to bad weather. Royal Navy Shipyard and The Azores. First time on Vista. Cabins are not sound proof! We could hear our neighbors loud and clear! Horizons has changed no coffee machines and no food! Also coffee machines continued to be out of order in the concierge lounge! Loved the new Embers restaurant. Staff was excellent! Cabin was very nice had a concierge ...
Let me give you all some background so you understand the perspective we are coming from. My husband I are both millennials and have almost exclusively sailed on the so-called “ultra-luxury” lines, i.e. Regent, Silversea, Crystal and Seabourn as we prefer the small ship experience. Since childhood, my husband had always wanted to take a transatlantic cruise. Thanks to the fact that ships are ...
Except for the Rosario Strings and the Buenos Aires tango show, the others seemed a bit tired. Jody the piano guy was a disappointment as we normally like to sit and listen and sing along with the piano man.
The other area that could be improved was the lack of 24 hour food. The larger ships have a place where you can get some some savory and sweet snacks almost round-the-clock.
One thing ...
This was my first Transatlantic cruise and I'm so glad we chose this sailing. The weather was ideal and we only hit what could be considered rough water on our last sea day in the Mediterranean. There were many positives and some negatives and some of them may be deal breakers for some people so I will do my best to describe them.
Embarkation in Miami: surprisingly slow. The security scan part ...
To be completely transparent about my review, we booked this cruise about a month before we set sail. We took advantage of MSC's status match, which only put us at the silver level. We paid for a very inexpensive inside guarantee room, but when we were assigned a room, we were upgraded to an aft-facing balcony. The upgrade was so unexpected, and the room was so awesome, the cruise already ...
The Divina is a beautiful ship, for sure. Clean, elegant, spacious. Definitely NOT American. And that's not a bad thing. We have plenty of "American style" cruiselines and to have another option is a plus.
We've recently returned from a 20 day Transatlantic journey and over the course of the cruise I've formed many opinions of this ship and the cruiseline in general. I'll start from the ...
I chose this cruise for the itinerary, because several ports had an overnight giving 2 days in those ports. I saw Divina launched in Marseille in 2011 and sailed on her as a solo traveller the following year, and loved it, so was looking forward to sailing on her again.
I have a friend I travel with now but we choose to have our own cabins. Paying a single supplement is huge so we always book ...
We are incredulous about the service on this ship: friendly, attentitive, and conscientious. Each person we see greets us warmly and with authenticity. The waiters learn your names within a day or two and treat you like royalty.
After five days of being at sea, there is no let up in the attention to detail and graciousness. The food is generally quite good; the sushi bar is excellent and ...
This is my collulative review for MSC Divina based on our 2 cruises ( one in 2017 Miami- St Martin- Puerto Rico, Bahamas; and the second one in March 2018 14 days trip across Caribbean and Central America ( Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Belize)
The ship is really big, it takes up to 3500 passengers. During both vacations ship was full, almost no empty cabins. Even though it’s 6 years old, all ...
*First cruise on Oceania, although 3rd cruise in a "R ship", so we knew what to expect when it came to the tiny cabin shower, public spaces, size, etc. Compared to Azamara's ships this recently refurbished ship is marginally better.
*Itinerary was good but some of the port departure times were too early and detracted from the on-shore "tourist" opportunity.
*Can't say enough good things ...
