Celebrity Equinox Cruise Review by S.Payne
- Sail Date: February 2012
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Concierge Class
The disappointments were as follows - the entertainment was very strange the way it was organised, on 3 nights the Sky lounge was closed for a private party- sorry but we didn't think that was fair as we had also paid for this cruise. The foyer area was used for alot of the entertainment and there just wasn't enough space. Plus there didn't seem to be one area were entertainment continued for any length of time - you would just be getting comfortable and maybe plucking up the courage to dance and it would finish (approx 3/4 hour)Surely entertainment should continue through the evening in one place without having to be continually moving on? The only place that seemed to have constant music was the Quasar disco - a great place (we are in our 50's) but the music was so loud people entered (not just oldies) pulled a face at the noise level and left.
On sea days it was impossible to get a place round the pool unless you were there before 8am, although we did notice some people were reserving two loungers - one in the sun with a book and one in the shade then moving when it suited them - very selfish! In our opinion the lawn club although novel was abit of a waste (If we wanted grass we would have gone to Austria)and would have been better used with extra sunloungers and pool area. We saw very few people using this area and we did go there quite often to use the sunset bar which was lovely.
It's a shame there were some negatives because the ship is beautiful, but in our opinion there are just more staterooms than on a smaller ship, and there didn't seem any extra public space - just more people.
I think we will probably stick to smaller ships in future because of this.

Beach BreakWe love Barbados and the beaches are excellent. Sun loungers and shades easily available, beautiful sea to swim in and good water sports if you like them. We walked to the beach from the cruise ship it took about 20-25 mins and was an enjoyable walk. The taxi back was $10View All 97 Beach Break Reviews
DominicaBeautiful island to sail into - 2nd visit and it always reminds me of 'King Kong' island very green and mountainous. Don't worry though if you go on an island tour he isn't there or we didn't see him!View All 669 Dominica Cruise Port Reviews

Water TaxiWe sent 3 days before our cruise in Fort lauderdale and used the water taxis to get about. It was very enjoyable seeing the celebrities homes and boats. The beaches are endless and very clean.Worth the extra cost and we will consider this area for just 'land based' in the future'.View All 12 Water Taxi Reviews
St. KittsThis was better than expected as people had said there wasn't much there. We walk ed round the town and found it interesting. Nice village green with unusual plants/trees etc and also found a lovely courtyard bar. The people were very friendly too and we felt safe.View All 1,405 St. Kitts Cruise Port Reviews

Beach BreakVery crowded. Go early before the crowds get there. It is supposed to be one of the worlds top 10 beaches. It was very nice, but we didnt think it any better than others we had been to - maybe because of the crowds?View All 199 Beach Break Reviews
