First and foremost, let me say we had OUTSTANDING service on this cruise from every single person we came in contact with. It's the best service we've had and that includes prior cruises in Concierge Class and Suites with RCI. Great service counts for a LOT. The officers were professional in every way and treated passengers with great courtesy. Two things you should know before you go on this ship: 1. This ship needs a rehab for individual cabins, beds and linens. The beds are hard, but they will add a mattress topper if you ask which helps a lot. 2. The passengers are overwhelming Canadian and the frame of reference for conversations and the entertainment selections reflect their predominant passenger list. One entertainer was billed as "Canada's famous", another entertainer said "who is from Canada and who is from anywhere else?" This isn't about bashing; we had four wonderful Canadian ladies at our dinner table and it was a pleasure to meet them-they were great! Nor are we thin skinned about being the minority on board (we are USA), but had we not been traveling with another couple, it might have been more of an issue for us. Several other US couples we met/chatted with from the US said the same thing-we just weren't expecting it and it made striking up conversations a little harder.

The food and entertainment were average, but going to the southern Caribbean you are there for beach, sun and blue water...so no big deal. The ship doesn't have the big open spaces that lots of the newer ships do, but we really liked all the small seating areas, libraries, card/game rooms etc.. The movies were cheesy, 1 was recent, the others were 2-3 years old. Since the ship has a wonderful cinema theater and the movies were well attended, we didn't understand why they aren't showing decent movies 3 times a day/evening. If I can buy a decent DVD movie, so can Celebrity. So here's the question: would I take this cruise again? Yes, I think so, but only if we had another couple to travel/chat with.
