We were excited to take a cruise that left from PR and ended in NYC. YES NCL cut their staff so you waited 30 minutes for a drink at the pool bar. YES the rooms are only cleaned once a day now. We tried to be understanding b/c everyone including the cruise industry lost money during Covid and had to try and make up money by making cuts. So we just went with the flow. Where we had a hard time was dinner. You were required to make a reservation for the main dining room, yet you waited in line for 45 minutes to get your seat. That was crazy. And lines to get in other food places were just as crazy.

Also vaping was a big problem. EVERYONE knows you can only smoke in designated areas but people were still vaping in the indoor venues and no one was doing anything about it.

Then here is the worst. Getting off the ship. We were told to be out of the room by 8:30. We were stuck in the stairwell for over 2 1/2 hours. They said certain floors were open for people to hang out and wait.. well you couldn't get to them. We were stuck. We chose to take our own suitcase and Daniel the Cruise director kept calling all the other color luggage tags to leave the ship when the fist ones "us" had not even moved off of the stairs. The people in charge did not even know or care that we were stuck! When we got to a point after 2 hours and saw a security person and asked. His response.. "Write a letter". We did just that. And we got the automated NCL.. so sorry to hear we will let the department know. NCL did not care at all.. And others I spoke to got the same automated letter. If there had been a fight or a fire or anything we would have all died in that stair well that day! In the beginning (after we were stuck) they would say the terminal is full so we are stopping for a moment. Then start again . When we got to the terminal.. it was HUGE and empty. And that part only took 10 min. NCL you really dropped the ball and your response to your clients sucked!
