It’s been 7 years since we were on Allure of the Seas, and I’ve been waiting for a good deal on an Oasis class ship. This transatlantic cruise was priced so low that we were easily temped to book it.

There was only one port initially (Malaga), with the ship was heading for dry-dock afterwards.

A few weeks later we were pleased to learn another port (Valencia) has been added.

Cabin Review

Boardwalk View Balcony

Our cabin 9*** was two decks above Johnny Rocket on the boardwalk. We had a similar cabin on the Allure, so I knew to expect partial ocean view, and good Aqua theatre angle. I also knew to expect a certain amount of noise from people on the boardwalk, but the most bothersome was the pre-recorded audio track from the new Abyss, which was repeated every time a guest was about to slide out of the tube. The booming amplified voice of Activities Manager from the pool level many decks above added more decibels even with the balcony door closed tight. Other than the noise factor, the cabin was very comfortable. Our cabin steward Korinne was excellent. She even left nightly pillow chocolates she bought herself, since Royal Caribbean dropped this freebie to cut costs. The cabin was on the shady side of the ship going Eastbound. Next time we’ll know to get a cabin on the port side.

Barcelona

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Jazz near the Rambla. Did a tour to Montserrat next day.
