A friend of our group had never experienced a cruise so we picked this cruise because it was short and fairly cheap.

Before I get into the review I feel I must say that this was only my third cruise and before this I was strictly a Carnival cruise patron. Sadly this MSC experience was not up to par with Carnival and much of it could be my fault for not getting requests in early enough to make a difference. The day before the departure date I called to request an extension cord for my c-pap. With Carnival I made the request once on board ( successful on both Carnival cruises) so I was thinking of doing the same on this cruise but called anyway to make sure. The girl that took my request for MSC was very helpful and had a positive demeanor and though I did not ask, she was thoughtful enough to offer me distilled water and both of these items were to be waiting for me in my cabin. Sad to say neither the water or the extension cord were in my cabin. I asked my cabin steward about these items and he suggested that I go to the guest services desk and they will supply me with an extension cord and water at no cost ( he thought). The guest services desk offered me a loaner cord but I needed to purchase and adapter for it. They were out of distilled water but offered me drinking water for my tank, which I accepted because I was thinking anything is better than nothing in my tank. Luckily my c-pap cord was just long enough to reach from the desk to the bed but it was stretched tight.

The food was nothing to write home about, bartenders were very slow even when I was the only one ordering a drink at the entire bar. I thought this might just be service at the one bar but I tried several on the ship and two on the Ocean Cay island and they were all very slow.

Cabin Review

Very cramped like any other cabin I've been in. Not sure of the category but we had a balcony, bed and bathroom. Might go for something in a higher class next time but I don't require much room when I'm asleep.

Port Reviews

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Not a lot on this cay, swimming areas, tourist shops and a few bars and food. There is a nice mock lighthouse that has a good light show at night. My friends are avid lighthouse climbers but were not allowed to tour this one because it was built only for the light show.
