TLDR; While we had multiple small issues with our vacation, we still ended up having a good time. The staff and food were amazing, the physical problems with our room and app were the major turn offs. Would we sail Carnival again? Likely no unless it was a family/friend group trip.
This was my first Carnival cruise since I was 16 (I'm 45 now) and I always had fond memories of those boats and the kids activities. So I was pumped to go on the cruise. Please also understand that my current point of view is that I've been on at least 3-4 Royal Caribbean cruises since then and later on. I am going into this cruise from this point of view and comparing experiences pre-covid cruising.
Handy note for parking is there IS a parking garage at the end that has no signs (we circled 3x before seeing it as they closed all the other parking).
Our room attendant was great, he kept up with all the linens and cleanliness inside the cabin. Big shout out to Mr. Wi he always greeted us with a smile and used our names.
I'll be listing the major/minor issues with our cabin but I want to be on a soap box for the balcony. It was NASTY and I've attached pictures in the review. It looked like it had months/years worth of salt and ash caked on to the floor and glass of the boat. We had to wear shoes going out there and this was the big reason we paid extra for the larger balcony, so we could hang outside when kiddo was in bed.
OK now to the other issues with the room:
1. Balcony was nasty (sorry had to put it in again)
2. Light to the balcony didn't work
3. No announcements were heard in the room (we had to open the door and the volumer didn't work in the room)
4. Announcements didn't trump the TV
5. Bathroom Fan didn't work
6. Shower drain was slow and would typically flood the whole bathroom
We did the excursion with the ship. It was great and gave me ease of mind we wouldn't miss the ship
Way too short to really do anything
