I should add that I have done 2 cruises previously with MSC on Seaview and Grandiosa, both times with the aurea package, and always upgrading to the top drinks package.
This was a solo cruise and I wanted to have a bit of luxury. It was also a way of testing YC ahead of our Honeymoon in October out of NYC.
Arrived at Southampton port (Horizon terminal) around 10.45 and was onboard by 11.20. That included a stop in the YC section to get my cruise card, welcome information and a nice glass of champagne; the champagne became a regular during the next week. I was told that my cabin would be ready
The cabin was well appointed with plenty of space. Due to the weather, I did over pack, and there was plenty of storage both within the wardrobe and shelf space by the bathroom and with the draws within the cabin. Would have still been plenty of space for DH had he been along for the ride. The cabin is plenty big enough for two people, with a good separate seating area. If being picky, the balcony could do with being a little deeper, but that wouldn't matter for this cruise.
The bathroom was a great size with a walk in shower almost 2.5x the size of a standard shower. The rain shower had fantastic pressure and there were great controls. I always take my own toiletries but there was plenty of shower gel and shampoo provided.
The cabin had a great coffee machine with nespresso and they provided me with my milk of choice. The mini bar was kept stocked with soft drinks and they changed to the flavours I wanted.
The butler and attendant kept the cabin in tip top condition and I never had any need to contact them; I'm pretty low maintenance. Do certainly didn't make use of the unpacking/packing service. Though Charles (butler) did ask.
