My husband and I are experienced cruisers and have been on many different cruise lines. We are in our 60s. After reading about how terrible this cruise was, we lowered our expectations...and were pleasantly surprised albeit with some potential improvements to recommend as well.
The food and service in the Main Dining Room is perfect. It was delicious, a diverse menu and our waiters Donald and Bente at table 316 were exceptional. The service in Windjammer Cafe was outstanding, however some of the dishes lacked quality...powdered eggs, poor waffles, missed real whipped cream and strawberry compote...most hotels offer this popular item and we were disappointed not to have quality there. I missed my prunes and the fruit bar was limited. No cream for coffee, and the coffee was too strong...had to add water to it to be able to drink it...I guess they were promoting their coffee bar...can you tell I am a breakfast person?
The ports are outstanding! Imagine seeing 10 islands in the Southern Caribbean and all had unique experiences to offer...we went to the drive-up Volcano in St. Lucia, the Magnificent Seven in Trinidad, bought spices from the Island of Spice, Grenada, tanned at Eagle Beach in Aruba, visited a maritime museum in colorful Curacao and of course there was loads of Island marketplaces and Duty Free Shopping to indulge!
Cabin 3534 was great, next to elevator very convenient and sound proof. Very clean except inside the drawers needed a wipe out.
