We'd sailed before on Celebrity Summit, once pre-Covid and once post-Covid, and had a great experience both times. Chose this cruise to see some ports we hadn't seen before and to check out the Edge. Fort Lauderdale was a great place to leave from - plenty of places to stay in close proximity to the port and embarkation was fast and simple.
Positives - There are some beautiful public areas on the ship. The Rooftop Garden and the Eden bar were lovely and great places to relax. The walking track is graded and goes through the Rooftop Garden and is much more interesting than the standard loop around the pool. The staff were uniformly enthusiastic and friendly. Enjoyed the variety of the four different main dining rooms though the food was uneven. Breakfast, lunch and buffet were fine. I believe our sailing was almost at full capacity, but the ship never felt crowded, and we never had a problem finding a deck chair even on sea days.
Negatives - The food in the main dining rooms was uneven and sometimes mediocre. Braised meat dishes were very nice, but anything involving a chicken breast (Kiev, saltimbocca) was dried out and the pasta dishes were not good. Should have used our onboard credit for specialty dining, but it was all booked up by the time we realized that. Ship is understaffed - dining service isn't what it was and you won't see many poolside waiters - and the staff is working crazy hard, but that may be universal post-covid. The infinity veranda is a big fail - much prefer the feel of the standard balcony and spent way too much time opening and closing that window. Other than the acoustic entertainers in the Eden bar, the entertainment options were not very good.
The infinity veranda is a big fail, but it does allow more space for the bathroom and it was the nicest bathroom we've had on a cruise ship. Big shower, great water pressure. Very comfortable bed. Upholstery on the couch was stained.
