This was my first time sailing with MSC, and I'd definitely say it was a good cruise. If you're looking for a budget-friendly cruise to someplace warm, without any huge expectations, I think this would be a perfectly fine fit. That said, there were some areas where there could be some improvement, and where the ship didn't entirely shine. Here's a recap of what I loved, and what I think could use some work:
Loved:
* Clean Ship: Even without being a brand new ship, everything was spotless. I hardly noticed any wear on the ship, and regularly saw crew ensuring everything was shiny and clean. The design itself was classy (can't go wrong with Swarovski stairs!), and didn't seem dated at all, like some older cruise ships tend to feel after some time.
I think the cabin design was really nice -- I liked the hunter green headboard and varied lighting options. I really liked the succulent photos on the wall too -- it all felt really timeless. The glass shower stall was also much-appreciated vs. a shower curtain. The balcony was also nice -- a perfect size to just sit outside and enjoy the sea air.
A couple of things to note: The hairdryer is in the drawer by the mirror in the room itself (not in the bathroom, and not in the closet). I had to ask where it was. It also wasn't removable, so that's where you'll be drying your hair. There was also only one outlet with two US plugs (also next to the mirror, under the TV). Would have loved an outlet by the bed (or anywhere else, really).
