Enjoyed the cruise as a whole. We arrived and departed the various destinations in a timely manner. Several comments - Dining: (1) red meat was not this chef's specialty. The steaks and prime rib were cooked way too long and were overdone/dry; (2) lunch offered a variety of choices but only two salads - Caesar and tuna. Would have like a small salad bar or more of a salad variety. FYI - the tuna has a very strong flavor (which was fine for me) so if you don't like a strong fish taste don't get it; (3) Fish, seafood and pasta were all very good (4) Thanksgiving dinner was awful. Not real turkey - carved from a processed boneless breast. Only if you ordered seconds did you get the real turkey carved at the dinner bar; (5) good selection of dinner wines and drinks. Ports - I felt we arrived at several ports too early in the day and departed well before the Christmas activities were in full swing. Disappointed that we visited only one marketplace in Cologne as there were two going on and Stasbourg delayed (by the city) its opening for one week so we missed that opportunity (alternative market was used). Freiburg was by far the best site to see the city and the marketplace.

You will get the most out of the cruise through a combination of Viking sponsored tours coupled with free time walking on your own.

Cabin Review

French Balcony

Cabin unit was fine with space under the bed for suitcases and sufficient closet space. Get an extra blanket if you are sleeping on the window side of the bed. It's drafty, even with the curtains down.
