My husband has always wanted to go on a European river cruise. He decided he wanted to do so to celebrate his 70th birthday. We chose Viking because the ship was small, there was an included tour everyday, as well as several optional excursions. There were no add-ons, no pool, no spa, no gift shop/hawking of wares, etc.! We had plenty of time to shop in each city. It was just relaxing every day and evening. Food was excellent! Service was exemplary. Everyone took care of us! There was even a slower paced group we signed up for so there was less walking! They arranged for taxis when we left the ship on departure day. We felt so pampered! It truly was the trip of a lifetime! We're going on a Viking ocean cruise in January to celebrate my 60th! Then we're going back to river cruises! I highly recommend Viking! You won't regret it!
