We wanted this itinerary for its stops in South and Central America and that was the right thing for us to do, as we've
been to the Caribbean so many time. Roatan was a highlight as was Costa Rica, but the Panama Canal is a LONG and mostly boring way to get to the Pacific Ocean. We did by Excursion and glad we did, once you have gone on a canal cruise in Europe, it's the same experience and not much difference in one lock to another We didn't get to Cayman Islands and was told that happens frequently because of winds and you need to tender, but overall a great cruise. Adventure needs a refurbish, and food was among the worse on all the ships we've been on. We are diamond, Anthem by comparison would be a 10 and they would be a 7, sometimes burnt food. But the service and staff were great.
Perfectly fine, but dated, short of outlets for devices, terrible bed, not comfortable and towels/robes very worn. Nothing dirty nor unsanitary, just not the usual good quality.
Very good for sightseeing with a guide, forts and bay shows wonderful clean white buildings. The walled city is a bit scary, lots of arms police, and bought emeralds at Mr. Emeralds, and bringing to my jeweler to make sure they are good emeralds, they ARE lovely. Will edit if we were ripped off.
Dirty/good for the Panama Canal but otherwise, wouldn't go there, would stay on ship.
Went to Mayan Ruins on the island, but Tulum is much better if you want to see great ruins. Cozumel is always fun and again, bought lots of silver and will have my jeweler access to make sure the turquoise stones are real and not plastic.
Love love love this port and as they cancelled Cayman was here two days, beach is wonderful the folks appreciate any tips and CLOTHES I brought rather than give to the good will in our area. Just a great port.
Costa Rica is gorgeous, got to see sloths, monkeys,. hummers and all kinds of insects. Wonderful port.
