We decided on a river cruise for a more intimate and personalized experience. Our Danube River Cruise did not disappoint. After checking our bags at LAX, we didn't have to deal with them until wheeling them in from the transfer van into the airport in Budapest. We appreciated this as seniors. A Viking rep was at the airport, at the hotel for our extended stay in Prague, and on every excursion. This happened even when only one guest went to Nuremberg. Tours were well-organized and guides were pleasant and well-informed locals. They even had tours for guests with mobility issues. The ship's events director, Taylor, emceed a hilarious music contest, circulated well, and was a pure delight. The meals were delicious, varied, and often reflected the area cuisine. The coordination of transferring disembarking guests to their various destinations was a planning marvel. Our next cruise will definitely be with Viking.
