This was my first river cruise and it was not what we paid for due to the river levels. Obviously, the levels couldn't be helped and they truly did the best at adjusting but I felt everyone should have at least been offered a future discount. The staff did their best to still make it enjoyable. I have been on many ocean cruises and the rooms were similar. The food was fine but I never got used to everyone piling into the dining room at one time and having to sit with strangers. It felt like I could only have one small soda per meal which left me a little thirsty. River cruises also don't leave many options for tours. We had a nice little experience but not worth the extra price from going on an ocean cruise. I just felt like I don't even know what we should have experienced because there was too much worrying about what was going to happen next and what we would miss out on. Again, I understand that the cruise line couldn't help the river levels, but, should have offered some sort of compensation.
