This was my first river cruise and it did not disappoint! The excursions provided a wonderful overview of the various cities and the tour guides were extremely knowledgeable. Due to low water levels, our ship was unable to dock in Regensburg. However, the crew ensured we would still tour the town by providing buses that took us into town and back again. While the buses were obviously not part of the original itinerary, I appreciate how adaptable the crew was to the situation and how easily they worked with the guests. The Atla crew/staff went above and beyond attending to the passengers' needs, and made a wonderful effort getting acquainted with us. The size of the ship is much more intimate than an ocean cruise ship, allowing guests to befriend one another. I really liked the fact that there were two areas on the ship where guests could help themselves to coffee, tea and baked goodies at any time, day or night. I can't wait to take my next cruise with Viking!
