We chose this trip because, after more than three years, it was time to cruise again. We usually avoid summer Caribbean cruises, but we could not resist the price and free offers and it included two new (for us) ports of call, Belize and Bimini.
You may or may not know that Infinity was the last Celebrity ship to return to service after the pandemic, only hosting its first cruise in early June.
Early reviews on this site were very negative and we looked forward to this cruise with some apprehension. We need not have worried. Despite a shaky start in June, the staff has certainly risen to the occasion. I know from speaking to some staff that some more experienced employees were transferred over to Infinity to bolster their experience level and it seems to have paid off. Everyone in every department was helpful, knowledgable, and eager to please.
Basic Balcony Cabin (#7023). Quite small, but all we needed. The decor was a little tired but in good condition. Only complaint was some deep dirt or mildew in some of the corners of the shower.
What made it all worthwhile was our steward, Das. In our 25+ cruises over the years, Das may have been our best steward ever. Since we travel with a folding electric wheelchair, storing and charging it could have been an issue but Das was helpful and accommodating and it was never a concern for us. A couple of days, my wife stayed in bed due to back pain. Das always accommodated us by waiting, when necessary, until we went to dinner at 6:15 to do the full service while also ensuring we had all the supplies we needed for the day. It was such a relief knowing that Das understood and went out of his way to accommodate us and our sometimes unusual schedules.
