We just enjoyed a very good cruise to Alaska. The Discovery Princess is a new ship, so it is in excellent shape. Alaska is obviously a beautiful place so it was an enjoyable experience. I would break it down as follows:

Embarkation: We were given a boarding time and color in advance. I am not clear why as it seems that everyone just arrived whenever they wanted to. There was a very lengthy line to get through the testing checkpoint. Once you provided your negative results it was relatively quick after that. Everyone was friendly and helpful through the process.

Cabin: We had a balcony cabin on the Aloha Deck (12). I have seen people complain about the balcony size. It is not large by any means but is plenty big enough for two people to sit or stand out there. The bed was very comfortable and had decent pillows, which is rare. There was enough storage and plenty of hangars. The bathroom was tiny but serviceable and, of course, everything was in good shape. Read more
