Can I just start by questioning why Princess has the MedallionNet app and medallions? We have used these for a few years with Princess (March 2020, November 2021, February 2022, and now July 2022) and have had the same experience each time. From the pre boarding information never being retained. To the medallions and the internet rarely working on board the boats. If this were in its infancy (beta) then perhaps it would be excusable. But it isnt. And it isnt acceptable.
The cruise was nice for the most part! We enjoyed a day in the Sanctuary and enjoyed our balcony mini suite. The front desk service, bar service, Allegro service and cafe service were exceptional as usual. Crown Grill was a poor experience with poorly cooked food, but the following night at Serafini’s was exceptional (service, food prep, flavors).
We had I believe the worst room steward possible for our room M220. He walked into our room on three occasions when we were occupying it. Each occasion, we had do not disturb indicated and the door locked. The final time he did this I wasn’t dressed and had to yell at him to stop telling him that I wasn’t decent. He continued to enter as if he didn’t understand. And finally left when he realized I wouldn’t take the next days papers he was trying to deliver. The next two days he wouldnt make eye contact (nor should he). But privacy violations that Princess should be ashamed of.
Cabins are getting dated. Our steward never changed the bedding during our week on board.
Beautiful cruising. You may even see some whales from the boat.
Take a helicopter to land on the Mendenhall glacier! Incredible experience
Take the train! A wonderful ride with beautiful views.
