Sail Date: Jun 2022

We always prefer Celebrity and wanted to do trans Atlantic in April but husband tested positive day before so we had to cancel. We decided to stay closer to home (Florida) next trip, and booked a cruise for June at ports in the Caribbean we hadn’t been to. We chose the itinerary not the ship. I wish we had more information about the ship. Turns out, the Infinity was sailing for the first time in awhile, and apparently Celebrity chose to sail the ship with half the staff instead of a full crew, which impacted service to the point that the restaurants couldn’t accommodate seating even at lunch. We were in Aqua Class so the wait was less to be seated at Blu but service was still abominably slow. We went to the martini bar before dinner and brought our drinks so we weren’t waiting to place drink orders for dinner. Also, the cabins are not updated. No outlets to charge phones next to beds, which should be a simple update even with lamps with outlets. Our safe had a dead battery and when complaining to fellow travelers they ALL had safes not working. At least they gave us a small safe to use. One woman said she had her jewelry out on the counter and came back to the cabin to see the door wedged open and someone working in the cabin while all her jewelry was sitting there. Our slider door needed fixing, our cabin steward never got to our cabin for turn down service first night and there was air conditioning not working in the hall and dripping from it outside our cabin. The Bimini excursion for beach and lunch was awful. At Turks and Caicos we didn’t do an excursion. The beaches are free. We went to Margaritaville beach and had a nice time. In Puerto Plata we did the walking and tasting tour. Liked that as well. I have to say, had we not had been Celebrity cruisers we would not book another based on this trip. First-time cruisers on this ship will probably not sail Celebrity again so getting the ship out before it was fully staffed and sail-ready was a loss in the long run.

Cabin Review

Not updated. Needs new carpet, outlets for phone charging. Newer tv and channels. Furniture old.
