I chose the Paris to Prague trip in 2022 because in spring 2019 I had a wonderful time on a Viking river cruise from Budapest to Bucharest. I wanted to again have such an edifying experience -- the stuff of an expanded awareness and good memories. Beautiful scenery, rich history, relaxing cruise time, and superbly accommodating Viking staff and regional guides were all part of a memorable and sustaining life experience.
Seeing both modern and historic architecture in Paris was interesting. I appreciated the variety of optional excursions during the Paris to Prague trip. Visiting Claude Monet's house and gardens in Giverny, not far from Paris, was inspirational. During the visit our group enjoyed a delicious lunch in a charming inn. Good conversations around the dining table.
Visits to cathedrals, synagogues and castles afforded time for reflection on past times. It's amazing that such monumental structures were ever built, and have been well and artfully maintained through times of tribulation. Town square were vibrant. Parks were lovely.
Stateroom 204 on Idi was efficiently designed and comfortable. Having large windows afforded wonderful views of the passing scenery including white swans.
