Many people had told us that a Viking river cruise was exceptional so we wanted to try it. It was everything and more than they said it would be. Plus we always wanted to see Vienna and Budapest so it was a good opportunity.
What truly stands out about our river cruise were ALL the employees. It was obvious that these people in all categories of functions were very well trained and that they truly cared above our comfort. There was not a single employee who did not exemplify great service. They were all very accommodating. No one worked at half speed, they were truly motivated in performing their positions quickly and professionally.
The excursions were so well prepared and orchestrated even to the extent that after we left the boat, they made sure that we were well taken care of for our extension in Budapest---just exceptional.
Cabin Review
The cabin was spacious, and the bathroom was sizeable given the circumstances. The balcony allowed us to see almost everything as we cruised by. The refrigerator came in very helpful. And the employee responsible for our cabin (Egge) was a credit to Viking. She was extremely polite, professional and service oriented.

Both Budapest and Vienna were great as we expected but we didn't expect to love Passau and Krems so much. The perfect complement for the trip.
