This is the first negative review I have ever written. The cruise experience was ruined before it had even started. I booked direct via the Princess website had received a booking confirmation, and then received no further communication from them whatsoever, no documentation, nothing. Tried to ring them a week before the cruise, no response despite spending about an hour waiting on the phone over various attempts. No reply to my numerous emails re their non-functional app. I had no other option on the Tuesday before the cruise to involve ABTA who managed to get Princess to ring me a day later – only then was I assured I was actually on the cruise. The coach transfer, through Princess a complete shambles – other passengers had received differing instructions as to where and when to meet the coach, so late getting to the ship. All so stressful and fraught and all so easily avoided had Princess have actually sent information and communicated.
You will have heard about the app – suffice it to say it is hard to see how it ever saw the light of day. Wasted so much time at the helpdesk on board – their view was I should buy another phone – if they think that is going to happen they are seriously mistaken.
The ship is draughty and chilly, had to buy a branded jumper on the first night.
