My wife and I were looking forward to our first cruise on Celebrity and we were not at all disappointed. Our embarkation went quick but it should have since the ship only had about 1200 vacationers on board as opposed to a recent Carnival cruise that was almost full, but did not have a full crew. I felt we were treated very kindly by all of the crew. Seas during the cruise we mostly calm and the ship stayed very steady, again as opposed to the Carnival ship which roll quite a bit with same seas. Our room, kept by Joanne, was very nice and kept well. Thank you again Joanne! The food was very good and very diverse every night at the Oceanview Café, never a complaint. The Opus restaurant, with Willmore as our waiter was very, very accommodating to the way I requested the salmon be cooked, which was not on the Carnival cruise at all! Thank you again Willmore. The variety was of food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. One thing in particular was the ice cream was of high quality whereas on the Carnival and a recent Norwegian was not. I feel that is NOT where you want to skimp on a cruise line. Entertainment was good. To summarize, well done Celebrity Reflection's crew for a very memorable cruise in all respects.

Cabin Review

Don't know what cabin cat we were in but it was a balcony and it was great with Joanne as our cabin steward!

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

I was quite surprised with how nice Ocean World was. A day well spent.

Nassau

It rained quite a bit and everyone got wet. It was a long walk to the end of the pier and the port should have better accommodations in case of rain. They had a couple of golf carts but only seemed to use one at a time. Didn't help much. We enjoyed the indoor market near the port.

San Juan

We walked a short distance to the old fort and had a very good time walking along the coastal road enjoying the fort. It is an easy walk.

St. Thomas

We did a snorkel by catamaran to Buck Island. It was a very good trip Got to see a couple of turtles and many colorful fish. The coral is almost all dead. Only saw one purple fan coral and not much more. Was told by one of the crew that it is coming back but it's going to be a long time I believe.
