Just got off of the 2/14/2022 11 day sailing of the Silhouette. Embarkation was the best ever. We were on this ship back in 2011 when it was brand new, and, after the recent refitting and revolutionizing, it still looks brand new. The rooms are entirely refurbished with new bedding, linens, towels, carpeting, couch, etc. The staff is great, always looking to please. Our room attendant, John, was professional and unobtrusive. We only had 1300 passengers on a ship designed to accommodate 3100, so social distancing was never a problem. The day we boarded, Celebrity dropped the mask requirement for indoor spaces, with the exception of the main theatre and the Casino. Entertainment was pretty good, but the food in the MDR was another story. We have sailed Celebrity for many cruises, and it just seems that the selection and the quality of the food has deteriorated over the past several years. Food was over spiced, with way too much salt, which usually indicates that someone is trying to cover up poor quality ingredients.. Selections just didn't seem imaginative enough any more. Our waiter in the dining room, Jimmy, was always great, showing real concern for keeping us happy. We were originally scheduled to visit Grand Cayman as the first port, but due to government Covid restrictions, Bimini was substituted. Then, due to high winds and currents, the captain announced that he could not safely dock there, So the first four days were now sea days, which was fine with us. The ABC islands were beautiful and the beaches great. Disembarkation, was fast and efficient. All in all, a great way to relax.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1A

The cabin was like new. The bed was excellent, as were the new linens. The only minor complaint is that drawer space is sparse. Otherwise, plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the cruise

Port Reviews

Aruba

The beaches here are plentiful and great. You can't go wrong.

Bonaire

You won't see large resorts like you on Aruba. Bonaire is mainly known for snorkeling and scuba. Kline, Bonaire, a small undeveloped island off of the coast is the best snorkeling I have ever done. Take the water taxi not far from the ship and it will drop you there. Once in the water, you just let the current "drift"you along some of the best coral and fish in the world. Only downside is that this is part of a nature preserve, which means no facilities.
