We chose this cruise because it was coming at a time when we were both fully vaccinated and Holland Lines had implemented required Covid tests for all of those fully vaccinated two days prior to sailing. It alleviated our fears of being on a cruise ship during a pandemic, and almost made us feel like we were being better protected there than in our hometown, where the vaccination rate is growing but not where it should be.
It was wonderful to be on a cruise again. This joy to be back sailing was shared by passengers and crew members. We heard some very interesting stories from the crew about their time while the ships weren't sailing, and some from crew members who had months before they made it home when all cruises were shut down. And the passengers---so many were just joyous to be be on a vacation again, and it was clear, cruising was their first choice in a vacation!
We met many wonderful people, as usual, which is what makes these trips so special. We met a young couple the first night at Sea View Bar, which is always our hangout place on Holland. They were worried they wouldn't make any friends, and thanked me for coming to their table.I told them, before the cruise is over you won't believe how many friends you will make. And they did! When I get in touch with Cory and get his permission, I will share his final picture on Holland!
Our cabin was fine. I just wish they had more hooks in the bathroom or cabin. My husband always steals them all.
